A group of 25 went for Father's Day, we found the staff were very rude to us all! Not only that, we found a dead fly in the batter of a dish! But when we approached the staff they clearly denied it was a fly, dropping it on the floor and picking something else up. Absolutely disgusting.....Not even an apology or offer to knock any off the bill. We will never be returning again.

The worst Chinese I've ever had.

Good food, good service, decent portions, well priced :-) The only downside is the decor! But it's not expensive so who cares!

Ate there last night and was far from impressed. The staff were overwhelmed by takeaways so that they forgot there was a restaurant to run. There was a long delay in taking our order, from entering the restaurant to receiving the soup took half an hour. The food was average, but the service was not good as the staff were all really busy selling takeaways.

I love love love love love the good fortune, polite staff to be honest, I feel it needs some more of the younger generation like 16 years olds but that's just my opinion, the food is amazing and the service it the best I've had in a long time

My family and myself have been using Good Fortune House for something like 10years, and none of us can remember a bad meal or one that wasn't worth the money! The staff are very very friendly and the food is incredible. We have suggested this to friends countless times, and they all say the same, great quality food! You're missing out if you don't go there!

I am a big fan of Chinese food! - so out of the many places I have tried this has to be the best by far. The food is excellent and consistently good - try the sizzling fillet steak in Garlic butter sauce - it melts in your mouth. mmm
Service is great and very friendly - don't be put off by the higher prices than your average Chinese establishment - this one is not your average!.
I guess the only very minor point I could possibly find to make it a honest review is that the decor is a tad tired.

i use to go to the good fortune house regularly and the food WAS excellent, i went the other day and i ordered dry fried salt and pepper chicken and crispy duck, the chicken was extremely salty..to the extreme and the duck wasn't crispy at all was bland and tasteless like wall paper paste

A COMPLAINT about a wasp in a takeaway meal led health inspectors to a filthy Chinese restaurant.
Swarms of flying insects confronted officers during an inspection of The Good Fortune House, on Garstang Road South in Wesham.
When the lid was lifted on a bin used to store home-made sauce, a swarm of insects flew out.
Mouse droppings were found on a shelf and raw ribs and cooked chicken were stored together incorrectly.
Restaurant boss Vivian Lio, 40, pleaded guilty to 10 offences of breaching food hygiene laws.
She was fined £3,500 and ordered to pay £1,235 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
Bench chairman Roy Gough told Lio: "We were surprised no-one was seriously ill. There was a high risk to public health."
Clare Holmes, prosecuting for Fylde Council, said that on September 23 last year, following a complaint from a customer, a food safety officer visited the restaurant.
The customer said they had found a wasp in their takeaway meal.
A large number of insects were flying about the premises and an electric insect-killing device was overloaded with dead insects.
Outside there was a store shed which contained food and rubbish and there was a foul smell coming from the drains.
A shelf in the shed had mouse droppings on.
In a fridge-freezer raw ribs were stored incorrectly next to cooked battered chicken.
Crispy cooked chicken was found in cardboard boxes stored with cobwebs above.
Surfaces and equipment were dirty and greasy and there was mould in a fridge.
Lio was told there must be a dramatic improvement by the next day.
Officers returned to find some cleaning had been done.
However, it was not enough. There were fresh rodent droppings in the storage shed and a dead wasp with some fried garnish.
A liquid used for up to two weeks to cook duck in had been left to cool down in the shed.
Chris Capaldi, defending, said the first visit by the inspectors, which took place 13 months ago, had acted as a wake-up call to Lio in bringing her attention to the unclean state of the premises

We love the good fortune house, there is always a very warm welcome and the food is delicious. The service is excellent and we would highly recommend it!
