After finding this cafe on here because I am vegan I made the 40 minute drive with my friend to go and eat here. We arrived at a run down shed to find that it is closed in the day time unless you make a special request to have it opened before hand! There were no other places I'm the area that we fancied so it was a totally wasted journey! Shame!

We were very disappointed with this restaurant; the decor was shabby and the background music was Foster and Allen, I think! Service was slow and it was difficult to get the waiter's attention. There was a big choice on the menu, but the food was quite disappointing, considering how expensive it was.

4 of us - 2 veggies, 2 not enjoyed a delicious meal here on Saturday evening - the sheer variety of choice available was incredible and everything we had was delicious, in good quantity and hot enough. The meat-eaters felt in no way deprived as everything was so tasty and full of interesting flavours and textures.
Desserts were a real highlight in the context of a thoroughly delicious meal and the owner who looked after us was incredibly friendly and charming. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the welcome is so warm and the food so good that that the decor is the least important aspect.
The most fun meal out I have had in a long time - the sloe wine may have contributed to that - and excellent value for money. I can't wait to go back there!

This is a great little place - admittedly it doesn't look too appealing from the outside but once you get through those doors the ambience is fabulous and it really is a chilled out place for a leisurely meal! The menu is fabulous - inventive, extensive and mostly vegan, and the food is some of the best I've ever had... my boyfriend & I (both vegans) intend to keep visiting this place until we've worked our way through the entire menu :D
Mithriltari The Grey Elf
I love this place more than any other veg restaurant I have been. The food they cook is simply superbly glorious. The tomato and pepper soup is mind-blowing!!! It is sadly true that the ONLY waiter there takes his time to serve and go about and he does it in order of arrival. He certainly does not go rushing about. But that is precisely the atmosphere of the place: NO RUSH. If you are very hungry grab a snack on the way there. Nothing in this world can rush that big, nice, old man. The food is so good that is very difficult to choose what to eat from such a massive variety. The mead was probably made in Asgard, as it tastes like a Viking blessing, the BEST Norfolk meat I have tried. The fruit and flower wines are mouth-watering. I wish I had the means to go there more often. I am quite happy with the place. Don't be too harsh if you don? get a slave, fast food type service, because is not necessary for a place to have it to be good. This place is magical, and it shall remain so.

This place is lovely. My girlfriend is vegan and it's one of her favourite restaurants in the world! I'm not vegan or veggie but the food is excellent: imaginative dishes & generous portions at a good price. The service isn't the fastest ever but it's some of the friendliest. That guy can talk for England! I believe the restaurant is a converted house and while it isn't swanky it certainly isn't 'grotty' as another reviewer suggested.
Greenhouse
Ignore the review below. This place is great. True enough, not the best place for a quick meal but if you want a relaxing evening where you aren't being rushed to leave this is the place to go. Great food with an amazing selection of vegetarian dishes and great selection of specials as well. A great destination for the best of freshly cooked slow food!
Greenhouse
I went to The Greenhouse on Valentines Day with my husband. We booked for 6:30pm, planning to enjoy a leisurely meal, followed by a few drinks in town and onto a club. We've been to the Greenhouse before and found the food to be very good, For starters we had avacado with garlic mayonaise and breaded mozzarella sticks, which were both tasty and well-presented. For mains, the Sutaki Pie was delicious and unique. The Mediterranean Wellington (roasted vegatables in a puff pastry case) was not so good as there was not much filling inside the pastry. Chocolate fudge cake for desert was fine, but no different from anywhere else. Overall, we did enjoy the food, the main problem was the service. While the ambience is generally laid back, and we did expect that, it was unreasonably slow. It took over 2 hours to get from the main course to getting the bill, and we were in there for a total of 4 hours, much longer than we planned. There was also the issue of feeling invisible and no-one even bothered to check if we were ok, or if we needed any drinks or to apologise to leave us waiting for very long periods of time. Unfortunately we had to pester for the bill, but by the end of the evening we were feeling very trapped and desperately wanted to leave. When the bill finally arrived, there was a 10% service charge added, which we found rather cheeky. We certainly wern't the only diners to be disappointed as one couple walked out after a long wait for their main course. By the time we escaped at 10:30pm, we were fed up, sober and felt that it had put a dampener on our evening and we are sorry to say, we're not planning to go again.
Greenhouse
The food here is fantastic but the venue itself is a little grotty. Don't take anyone here to impress but veggies will love the extensive menu and the quality of the food.
Greenhouse
We had a wonderful meal here. my boyfriend isn't vegetarian and was a little apprehensive about eating here. But we were both very impressed. The meal was delicious with very generous portions. Don't be put off by it appearance. Once you step inside, you will be made to feel very welcome
