Stumbled upon this place by surprise on Friday evening. What a find ! Excellent food, nice surroundings and a highly attentive waiter who really made our evening with his help and all round good humour ; a night to remember. The chutneys and dips for starters with the poppadums were amazing. I had the pathia - the fruit and spices sizzled on the taste buds - a highly tasteful and freshly flavoured dish for those who like it hot. The naan bread was delightfully light and crispy and melted in the mouth. Without a doubt one of the best curries I've had in a while. Gurkha Grill - thank you for reminding me exactly how good Indian cuisine can be when it's done properly. Sensibly priced too. We will definitely be returning...

Recently attended restaurant because of a deal on frugaloo. Wasn't expecting much for the price we paid but I have to say it was a great meal. Service was great and the food was excellent, fresh ingredients that worked well and a menu with an extensive offering of dishes from the usual curries to the very traditional gurkha dishes. All in all a great experience and I will certainly be going again.

I am a very foody person and after tasting the great food of Gurkha Grill I could not help my self to go their again and again. The food is simply wow and the members of the restaurant are very cooperative and friendly. Raj and Niel are always their to welcome us. I am 200 % satisfied with the nepalese food and environment and I recommend you to go their and experience yourself. I guarantee you that you will not regret it…..

I have been going to the Gurka Grill for many years now with my family and i have to say the food is delicious and Raj and Niel are very welcoming. I really liked how they take the time to get to know their customers and are always polite. I recommend the Gurkha Grill to everyone i know and i have never heard a complaint.

We attended for a friend's birthday party on Saturday evening, November 8th and Gurkha Grill made it one of the most upsetting and distressing nights of our lives. We were disgusted by the owner's attitude. We had originally booked for a table for 16 but due to cancellations we rang up and spoke to a lady there and reduced it to 10. When we met up before, for a drink, three people were ill with gastric flu - reducing us now to 7. When we arrived there was a table for 10 laid out - not 16 - so they obviously received our earlier message. But a party who arrived and wanted somewhere to sit were told it was full - even though we informed the waiter and the party stood in front of us that we were only 7 and they could have our left over seats. For some reason they were not given the space and left, which seemed odd. We sat down and ordered drinks and food and had poppadums, then about 20 minutes after arriving the bald-headed manager bulldozed over. He was incandescent with rage and demanded to know who was the girl who organised the birthday party. He ranted and raved about why there wasn't 16 of us - we explained they clearly got the message and apologised for the other three but what can he expect a group to do if people fall ill? He was furious and so angry and we said we were paying and here now and what was the problem? He told us he did not care whether we were here or not. A couple at a neighbouring table then piped up and asked him to be quiet. He said it was his restaurant so why should he? By now the whole place was silent and you could hear a pin drop. This brave couple said that we were paying customers now and he should not talk to us and he told them it was none of their business. They were so angry they got up halfway through their meal and walked out. Then, even more angry, he turned on me and said we were responsible for all this. Utterly humiliated, angry - my wife was in tears - and I lost my cool and told him to go away and used the 'f' word which I'm not proud of - this made him so mad he stuck his finger in my face and told me to "F**k off!!!" He was going to hit me and his staff realised it as the waiter with glasses and dark hair who had taken our order tried to restrain him but he flung him off (he nearly sent him to the ground) twice and that was when my wife dragged me out, fearing he was going to attack me. As i left - keeping my cool - I turned and said that all the customers in his restaurant who saw his behaviour towards us will never come back after this and amazingly he said: "I don't care - I don't need them. I have my food and it is the best so I will get more customers!" Nice customer service. I hope you send it on to the owner and his business partners. I hope he will apologise to us. I regret using the "F" word but he had already at that time been so aggressive I wanted him to step away from me and feared for my safety. We still do not understand what we did wrong but I hope no-one every eats there after what he did to us.

I went to Gurkha Grill last night with as a Group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. Although they didn't confirm the email booking (their PC was broken) they got the table sorted no problem. Menu was great with a decent veggie section and food to follow we great. Staff are really friendly and even lit the candles on our cake and brought it to the table (we brought the cake, didn't buy it there). 2 rounds of 'Happy Birthday' once in Spanish which was nice and they offered us a round of complimentary drinks. £110 for 8 inc. mains, sides, pops, bread, rice’s and drinks. :) RECOMMENDED :)

You wont find a better Asian restaurant anywhere, believe me, I've looked! The staff are gentlemen, generous and are happy to cook bespoke dishes. Quality of food is top class, all made fresh to order and is made with love. If you live in Manchester and don’t go you mustn’t be well.

I've been here a few times. The food here is a cut above your average indian. Every dish I've had is full of flavour. I would recommend it to anyone.
