Had a fantastic evening at a colleagues leaving do. We had a table of 18. Food and service were fantastic. BUT - Not so happy about the £90 "Parking Eye" parking ticket three of us recieved for parking in the Carlton Hotel car park even though we were "PATRONS" of the hotel. None of us will be returning as receiving this yesterday through the post has made a wonderful night into a terrible one. This needs to be sorted out. . . . Word of advise - If attending - DONT DRIVE

Jali is THE BEST Indian food in the the Blackpool and Fylde area (and probably much further afield), and arguably the best food of any local restaurants full stop. I work in the restaurant industry so know my stuff, and this place is one of only 4 in the area to hold an AA Rosette award- and it shows. The food is authentic, fresh, with very well balanced flavours and always good quality, tender meat. Yes it may be slightly more expensive than your 'run of the mill' Indian, but this is not your average Indian, its a bit special and quality is worth paying for.

Staff were very polite if a little disorganised (mix-up with the booking, taking same drinks order 3 times, etc...). Lovely décor & food was gorgeous, I had the veggie Thali & it was wonderful. However the drinks are definitely overpriced. Nearly £4 for a pint of beer is extortionate!

Love this place! It's without a doubt the best Indian in Blackpool and probably a lot further. I can't recommend it enough, if it's a really good meal. Staff are nice too, didn't pester me which I appreciate.

Date of Visit - Saturday 15th May 2010. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. We were 8 ladies looking for somewhere upmarket to have dinner and the hotel we were staying in recommended the Jali. We had pre-booked our table and arrived on time at 7.30pm. After about 10 minutes, I asked if we could order our drinks and some poppadoms. as no-one had bothered actually asking us. After another wait the drinks arrived, but I never did get get my half-lager shandy even after repeated requests. We didn't order any starters as we wanted to enjoy our main course. We eventually got our main course at 9.15pm, (and I still didn't get my shandy). We had to return our plates as they were dirty. The food was good but we are all used to bigger portions but by the time the food did arrive - we had all lost our appetites anyway. We asked to see the Manager, who didn't speak very good english, he did apologise and offered us free deserts and coffee, but we had had enough and just wanted to get out! The restaurant was not that busy - so there was no excuse for the poor service. Yes, they did take the service charge off the bill - but that was it. Obviously they knew that they would get no repeat business and didn't care either. You've been warned - the food was Ok, the service was atrocious!

My Dad came down to Blackpool and took me out, I'd always thought I'd like to go to Jali but never got round to it. We went during the week, Tues night and it was really fantastic! Lovely flavoured food, authentic indian. We ordered the Prawn Biryani and Fish Curry, both were great but the Biryani rice was beautiful. Every mouthful I was just nodding and thinking it was great. I am coming back this Friday with a young lady I know! I'd really recommend it to anyone who asked.

I went here for a meal last night with a friend & had the most enjoyable meal I've had in a long time. the food was perfect, a lot different to your normal curry house, but also a lot more flavoursome. will be returning soon. Thank you

We had the pleasure to try the Seafood Extravaganza a couple of weeks ago and it was superb. Plenty of choice, good atmosphere and would certainly recommend you.

If we can't get a jaLi we won't have a curry, the best around for miles!

The food in the Jali restaurant in Blackpool has lovely presentation and very tasty - unusual and different from the 'typical' Indian restaurant food. You will encounter spices and flavours that differ from those of a typical curry house. The majority of the meals come without sauces which is fine, but then friendly waiters will always persuade you to order extra sauce for your meal - which means extra cost. Another thing to look out is a suggestion from waiter to have a bottle of water before your meal. It's misleading and you going to be charged for it (£3 I think). So, even though the menu prices appear reasonable, you may end up with a bigger bill the you're expecting. A pricey place with pushy waiters, but with tasty food and in an excellent location on Blackpool promenade. Definitely worth a visit.
