A really excellent meal and highly recommended. A unique Italian dining experience in this country. Northern Italian cuisine- which is very rare in the UK- in an unstuffy fine dining style. Michelin listed for years. Even the venue feels like you are in a hill village in Italy. Authentic, creative and great value considering. Service and wine were spot on too

Absolutely wonderful! The pappa al pomodoro was INCREDIBLE.... Warm and cozy authentic, hearty Italian!

What a fantastic meal-the best Italian we have ever had. The food was out of this world, the tastes were just sublime. The staff couldn't do enough to make our meal special and told us all about the dishes and where the produce was sourced. You haven't lived until you have sampled the delights at this authentic Italian restaurant.
Unimpressed
Table booked for 8.45pm. Arived 8.35pm waited 30 mins before order taken, another 15 mins before seated at table (although the table was free when we entered) and eventually left without eating at 9.55pm. Service not as expected. Food may be wonderful but we'll never know. Spoilt a very special evening.

We tried the October menu a couple of evenings ago - our second visit to La Locanda - and it was excellent, again. My starter was the smoked wild trout with a pumpkin tart - brilliant. The atmosphere is welcoming and not a bit stuffy, the service is exceptional and it also offers really good value. Can't wait to go back.

We ate there for the first time yesterday (7th Oct). We had talked about trying it because of its excellent reputation and we were not disappointed. We managed a good value 3-course meal in very good surroundings and close enough to home to encourage a repeat visit. We both enjoyed als which were different to "standard" Italian restaurant fare.

My wife and I have dined at numerous Italian restaurants. This was the best by far. What made it so special was:- The atmosphere of the venue The professional and accommodating staff And of course the delicious Authentic food. We live in Dubai and was amazed how nice this Restaurant was- a hidden gem.(The prices where very reasonable also)

My partner and I - both vegetarian - ate at La Locanda for the first time recently and both agreed that it was perhaps the most stunning meal we'd ever eaten. All three courses were truly food taken to the highest level and, with the attentive service and cosy atmosphere, it was a dining experience that I think will be hard to beat. I sound gushing here...but it really knocked us out. We're happy to recommend this fabulous restaurant.

I have been to countless numbers of Italian restaurants in Britain but very few compare to La Locanda. A couple of the London ones maybe. This is true authentic Italian cooking at its best. Don’t go and expect to see things like garlic bread, pizza, chicken carbonara, duck in orange sauce on the menu because you wont get them. Instead what you get is a unique Italian experience. The menu consists of a nice variety of interesting dishes. Not too many to get you confused or indecisive. Just the right amount. This is an Italian restaurant in its purist form. It’s not an English Italian restaurant, it’s an Italian restaurant in England. There’s a big difference. To add a little gloss to the whole experience I asked the owner if they ever put rabbit with polenta on the menu. She replied, “every thing is possible, just give us a week at it will be done”. Now you don’t get that level of service from your local italiano restaurant.
