After reading the reviews on the Internet for The Lantern we visited on a weekend away in Hull and was not disappointed. We both had Fillet Steak and it was fantastic one of the best we have tasted cooked to perfection. A tip when choosing the vegetables is to pick what you both want and share the portions as enough to satisfy you. The deserts were scrummy too. Excellent service and a delight to visit. Well recommended.

We went to the Lantern last night for the first time. The food was excellent and so was the service. I'm sure it won't be long until our next visit. If your looking for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with great food on offer, you should give it a try!

This was most definitely the best meal I have ever had (Beef Stroganoff). My husband had the steak, I tried some of course, and I could not decide which was the best they were both fabulous. We have told numerous friends since and intend to go back, with them all. Thank you Andreas

Whenever we are hungry at home and we ask ourselves "what could you just eat?" - the answer without reservation is "a Lantern steak". For 40 years on a regular basis we have ordered the same delicious meal. The chairs may not be the comfiest but the food is yummy and the value excellent.
Don't ever retire Andreas - you and your lovely daughter Nicki ARE the Lantern to us and all your other regulars.

I have been dining at the Lantern Restaurant (and many others) for the past 40 years, I can say without a moments hesitation the beef stroganoff magically prepared by the owner chef Andrios is the finest I have eaten anywhere in the WORLD.
(Stoganoff-Rice-Greek Salad-Onion Rings & a bottle of Othello Red Wine). What a superb 'value for money' meal out.

I've been going to this family owned restaurant for over 30 years. The chef is now in his seventies and absolutely no one in Hull comes close to his skills. No meal is ever a disappointment. I've never seen anyone complain.
