went to this great little cafe bar with an Italian friend and had a super meal with great service very friendly staff and we really enjoyed it. My Italian friend said the pizza was as good as Milan where she was from.

In a word "Awful" I agree Ramsay would have a field day in this horrible place - The service was bad, staff rude and the place was dirty - I am surprised to see this place open. They can't get much in the way of repeat custom.

Very disappointing! Below average food quality and bad service. Would not recommend..

The first time I went to this café bar, myself and a friend had just finished a modified version of the Wirral Walk, again, and our brains were not up to doing much. Whilst he got a chair, I was given the task of staggering to the till to order drinks for us both and something light to eat. However, when I got to the till, I wasn't expecting to have to force my brain to think when I saw all the "lighter" options available. A vast array of sandwiches, paninis, baguettes, toasties, etc... was arrayed on the menu, and we actually had to stop and decide otherwise the queue behind would have been long. Finally, we settled with a hot cheese and chicken baguette, a vegetarian breakfast panini and a couple of orange juices. Even just the service at the till was fantastic, with the waitress giving many options of what could go with the food, making ordering easier. Service was pleasantly quick, with our food arriving hot and well presented, and most key, with a smile. It was extremely tasty and went down rather well after a long walk. And for about £10, it was very good value in a normally expensive part of the Wirral. Since then, I have frequented the café, and since the opening of the night restaurant, La Lanterna, I have managed to sample the excellent pizzas on offer, where, yet again, service with a smile is key and the value is still very good. For a family meal, I'd recommend Sands highly, especially on those lazy Sundays (though you better get there in good time, it can be packed!), or for a nice evening dinner, La Lanterna (which is very romantic with a mini lantern in the middle of the table, I'll be taking the girlfriend sometime soon).
