Nestled in Mere, near Knutsford, in the heart of Cheshire, Mere Court Hotel was originally built in 1903 as a wedding gift for William and Amy Dunkerley. Today, it has been lovingly restored into a luxury country house hotel, set within beautiful landscaped grounds. At the heart of the original house lies the charming Lakeside Restaurant, offering a truly special dining experience. From intimate dinners and business meals to family celebrations, the menu showcases the very best of seasonal ingredients, complemented by an extensive selection of fine wines from around the world. The hotel itself is really nice, however, it was one of the coldest nights of the year and there was no heating on they had around 6 plug in radiators throughout the building which gave very little heat. The food itself was edible but not anything special and it’s very difficult to relax and enjoy yourself when you’re sat there freezing especially on what is supposed to be one of the most romantic nights of the year. All in all not a very good night if the heating was not working properly then it would have been nice to have been forewarned because I would have cancelled stayed at home and saved the cost of the night and the £40 taxi fares I

We always stay at the Mere Court before flying on holiday. Fly/Park passages are good value and you stay in a lovely venue and have been at least 10 times. The food is always good and the menu is varied, staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is to much trouble.

The sandwiches were very tasty on brown and white bread, and the scone was delicious with the jam and cream. Unfortunately the cakes were very small and quite disappointing. The waitress service was very good but the room was rather cold and my husband needed to put on his outside jacket.
