I ate there yesterday 22/08/2010 with my family for my birthday... The meal was excellent, great menu control and the children ate well which is unusual. Having attended a Civil Ceremony on Friday 6th June at Moorland Lodge I can confirm the meal afterwards was, as usual, of the highest standard. The service is second to none. The tranquil atmosphere and surrounding views are very special. All round it was a wonderful occasion.

I am fortunate enough to travel extensively around the world,but coming home is always a pleasure and gilded by a meal at the Moorland Lodge.The food is a treat,always fresh, with those English ingredients that ignorantly get derided in certain quarters.The ambiance and homely feeling of the restaurant are such, that it is almost as pleasant experience as the food itself,expertly managed,as are the attentive young staff,by the owner herself,Mary. Went with a party of 18, and dined upstairs. every one enjoyed their food and service, my one complaint would have to be that one of the party was sat too close to the open fire which was very hot and made the dinner very uncomfortable for them.

We went for a family meal to the moorings in November and had a great time, the roaring log fire was lit and it was very cozy, my eldest brother and his wife stayed there over night and said the breakfast was amazing. All the food we had was homemade and the range of puddings was superb
