This place is really good, just a few minutes walk for me. Quite often at lunch we pop down for a meal, they are always cooked fresh to order this is a popular place and quite often busy but this doesn't have an affect on the food or the busy staff. They always manage a good chat and a smile very attentive towards the customers, great place worth a try. Compliments to the chef, thank you.

My partner and I have eaten here many times. The staff are always friendly and the place feels very relaxed. On the menu is a great range of choices to eat, not forgetting the specials menu. Tonight we are going to the Tapas night, which is very popular.

four of us went down on saturday, nice place and atmosphere but was surprised to find only one barstaff.two of us had starters, black pudding and the chefs pate which both were deemed delicious.the only thing i wasnt impressed with were the main the tbone for 12 quid wouldnt have fed my child with the ammount of meat and was tasteless and chips were soft and fatty, not for me at all.hubby said the fish was super and would eat again.my friend ordered butterfly chicken with cajun, but wasnt even spicy so maybe extra care on the meat front, out of ten id give a 4 n possibly would go again just to see if it was just a one off .

We rung up the red lion enquiring about booking for a meal on the 18th may we was told we didn't need to just turn up it cost us all in all £10 in taxi's to be told they were not serving any meals as they had a private function on not only that we don't get out much as we are both disabled and are looking after my 85 year old mother- in law who is on oxygen 24hrs a day we have to rely on carer to be able to come & stay with her so we can both go out together which is not very often so you can imagine why we are not two very happy people thank you to the red lion for a none enjoyable evening which we won't forget in a hurry ....

6 of us ate here on tne 26th feb 2012, and what a pleasant surprise, as soon as you walk in you get a good feeling about this place ,for a start its really warm and cosy the fires were lit, there is nothing worse than going in to a cold pub. The food and service was really good, as one of our guests cant eat wheat. The waitress asked the chef to do a wheat free fish pie, which he did and she said it was delicious! We will definitely go back.

Came here a few week ago with my husband at lunchtime> we shared a tapas meal for 2 which was more than plenty and it was excellent> place was really clean and the staff was really lovely and polite , the chef actually came out of the kitchen and explained what everything was on our tapas plate. Definitely going again soon
