The elegant surroundings of Grade II-listed Charles Roe House on Macclesfield’s Chestergate are home to Piccante at The Copper Room, a new venture focused on Italian and Brazilian fusion dishes and small plates. Menu choices includes homemade pasta and focaccia – popular in both countries - alongside tasty Brazilian tapas dishes. House specialities include Arrosticini skewers, Pork belly with honey and sesame, lamb, black sheep mutton, Italian-style beef and chicken dishes. The food offering is complemented by a top-quality drinks selection and customers are welcome to just drop on for a drink in the bar or lounge, which has regular live music nights.

We ate here on Mother’s Day (19.03.2023), and opted for the bottomless brunch. We had the best time, the food was amazing as usual and the Dennis flowed - just what you want from a bottomless brunch! The staff were so accommodating, allowing us to switch things up with our booking and being flexible with us relaxing in the downstairs bar and moving upstairs for food past our booked slot with no issues Would highly recommend, and we will be back!

Firstly, the food was lovely. Our drinks and food order was taken in good time, though we did feel that we were rushed. Our table was being cleared as we were still eating, including a plate that was still being eaten from. We therefore didn’t feel that we wanted to stay any longer for another drink.

Very mixed feelings! Food was really nice, we had the ‘kebabs’ and they were very tasty and marinated well. Service was really, really bad. Very slow to take our order, a table of 4 seated after us were actually eating before anyone took our order, the food took a long time to arrive as did the wine, we were twiddling our thumbs for at least 30 mins. After we finished no one bothered to clear the table, we asked for the bill, still didn’t clear the table, got the bill no one came to take payment so we went downstairs and paid and left. There were 4 waitresses, more than enough, but very young, clearly untrained and all standing together by the door. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back even if the food was good!

The food was delicious but the service was very poor - lovely people but a clear lack of organisation. We waited an hour for our food and order wasn’t correct but the food which did arrive was delicious- sea bass was excellent.
