Visited Pistachio on 6th June 2013 had a fantastic meal. Food was superb. Went yesterday (Sunday 23rd June 2013) to find two notices on the door/window stating that the lease had been withdrawn and Pistachio is no more. Such a shame as it really was a great restaurant. Does anybody know if it is relocating elsewhere?

We went to Pisatchio last night with good friends, we each had 3 courses and numerous bottles of house red!
The service was excellent, the staff were very knowledgeable and welcoming.
The food was really excellent. We had a selection of starters between our party of four, each dish was well presented, served at the correct temperature and very tasty. Cannot recommend the crab and chilli fritters highly enough! The main dishes again were very well presented and full of flavour. The food foodies not fussy just wholesome and tasty!
We ordered dessert despite being full to the brim!! We all chose a fantastic combination of vanilla ice cream, espresso and amaretto served with crumbled amaretto biscuits! It was sensational and great way to end a really delicious meal!
The house wine is a merlot and a real steal, definitely recommend it.
A great night, great company and wonderful food and service! Cannot recommend Pistachio more highly!

my work colleagues went for a meal , hoping for the xmas menu,
when we arrived to be told they don't do it on a sunday,
we had the menu they had on, but all night, what they brought out was cold, we all 10 of us had to give all back,
again, came cold, the service was an effort, no smiles of greetings, no niceties at all.
so my request is to eat out leave this place alone, avoid if you want to enjoy a nice meal, they spoilt the ideas of a good xmas night out,

1st time at Pistachio. Monday is Jazz night. 3 becoming 4 good musicians playing chill out jazz. Enjoyed both starters, goat cheese tartlet and belly pork followed by mains, aubergine gratin and marlin with sea food broth, supplemented with a tray of steamed vegetables, very fresh. Well worth the a la carte prices but at £12.95 per person (Mon - Thurs special) very good value. Service was superb and ended the night with brandy and coffee. The menu has Hennessy at £6.50, which was too heavy for my wallet, but the alternative was Courvoisier at £2.60, very reasonable, and the coffee was very good (enjoyed by my wife, who invariably complains about the coffee). Overall, an interesting menu, a bit different from the average, and even for a Monday night a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

We went to Pistachio last Monday night (my birthday), with the combined children and grandchildren and I must say all age groups had a good time. Food was lovely (and there was a childrens' menu also), the staff were really pleasant and there was a jazz band providing mellow, relaxing music (and I didn't think I was fond of jazz!). Lovely night out! Top marks.

I Went to Pistachio on Saturday afternoon and was warmly welcomed by the waitress who was courteous, friendly and most of all very professional.
The decor and general ambiance is wonderful, however the same cannot be said about the food. Starters was cream of onion which tasted like it was from a tin. It was devoid of an onion flavour and had a sickly sweetness, almost as if the chef had tried to manufacture a caramelised onion taste. The main course I had was traditional fish and chips. The chips were delicious, however the fish fell apart and the underside of the batter was soggy, which immediately means one thing. The Frozen battered cod was defrosted in the microwave and deep fried for several minutes. The tartar sauce instead of being a creamy delicious mixture of mayonnaise, lemon, capers, cucumbers etc tasted totally bitter and processed . For such a beautiful restaurant and excellent service, it is such a shame that there is no freshness of produce and that the sous chef is a microwave

My friend and i went to pistachios Saturday 30th August. I came across it by chance on the Internet, and was very pleased i had. We Had a wonderful meal served by smiling helpful staff. I will definitely be going back soon. The meal was very reasonably priced and we ate in a very relaxing atmosphere. Had a drink in vinyl's to finish off the evening. Overall impression brilliant!!

Dined at this restaurant on the basis of the other reviews here - even if they are a little old.
Really good meal. Had the Sunday Roast menu, starter was a little tired - wife's pile of rocket didn't have any dressing put on it. The main course (I had pork, my wife had beef) was excellent, plenty of meat, tender and tasty. All served in a very flavourful gravy along with seasonal veg. The deserts were particularly good - wife went for homemade strawberry gateau and I had the homemade apple & rhubarb crumble - and for once homemade meant what it said, they were truly excellent and VERY tasty!
Overall a very good meal, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends - good value for money too.

I have been to Pistachio now several times in the last 12 months and always come home feeling chilled and relaxed and full of good food and wine!! (and the purse strings not too stretched either!!!) I have introduced several different sets of friends to the restaurant and all agree it is a great night out and have booked to go back themselves after the experience!Well done to all involved!
