Two telephone calls to book resulted in arrival to find name taken down incorrectly. Poor and indifferent service. "Move those plates so I can put this down". Very cramped table with not enough room for the crockery. Request to be moved denied "all other tables booked" when in fact not occupied throughout our visit.
Seafood platter over cooked, some shellfish probably undersized to be legal and scallops full of sand. House wine on take it or leave it basis when we requested alternative to Chardonnay.
Basically.. very overrated and just what we should have expected from Brixham!!.. the land of fish and chips.
There are much much better seafood restaurants in Torbay.
Would have told them all this, had they bothered to ask.

Outstanding is an understatement for this fantastic place. My wife treated me to a night out here for my birthday, and from the moment you step through the door you are made to feel welcome by the owner and her great staff, nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble. The food is nothing short of superb, in portion, very large, and taste, well 7th heaven, do try the scallops and the lobster pure bliss. this is by far the best place we have eaten in for many a year and cannot wait to return in September. Highly recommend to all, but do book in advance. Many Thanks to all at The Poop Deck for a truly great evening, see you soon.

An excellent meal was had by me and my girlfriend, many many dishes to try out, in fact i'm just about to book our table for a meal tonight! Hope they have a table spare!!!

After hearing constant rave reviews about the Poopdeck restaurant I decided it was time to check out what all the fuss was about. I was not disappointed. The food was superb, the freshest, tastiest seafood I have ever tasted. I don? understand how the owners can make any money on the portions, my partner had the seafood platter (an absolute must if you like shellfish) it was absolutely HUGE! Extremely friendly atmosphere, staff very attentive and polite. 5* recommendation!!

the first time we went, my husband and I were astonished at the size of the portions. We had read the excellent review in the Devon Life (April 2004) which we couldn't quite believe. However, since going back again and again (sometimes 2 times a week), we know we have discovered the very best seafood restaurant in the whole of Torbay. Unfortunately, to this date, we have been unable to have a table in the window overlooking Brixham harbour. These are snapped up in advance very early, so we would recommend anyone to book very early. The staff are "in tune" with the dishes and can answer any queries. This is a plus! They are also very attention and pleasant. We will continue to go to the Poopdeck indefinitely.
