Our recent visit to Maximos' was excellent, very attentive but not overpowering. The staff could not be more helpful, one of our party had specific food allergy requirements and they ensured their food was cooked to their exact liking. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm, friendly and inviting. A lovely place to go with friends or for a romantic meal with your loved one! We will definitely be visiting again soon as we enjoyed the whole experience immensely.

Now an Italian restaurant called Maximo's. Went there last week for an early meal before going out. Good quality food and reasonably priced especially as it was early diner price. Best restaurant in the immediate Peterlee area and a lovely setting, furniture etc. Many excellent staff who were there when needed and quickly cleared your table. We'll be going back soon.

We arrived 20 mins before our booking and were told to wait till 08.30 even though the table we later sat at was empty. After 15 mins a drink arrive at 09.00 we did sit down at the table we saw empty originally. 30 min we received our meals, mine was a rib eye steak not very good, saying that my partners was excellent. Along with steak came a small rocket salad and 6 chips nicely stacked! but at 1.69 for side dishes was over the top. Service overall was poor, we will never go or recommend it to anyone.

What a joy to find this delightful bistro amongst a landscape of pubs. Set in the former brewery at Castle Eden this lovely new addition to County Durham is well worth a visit. We ate there one lunchtime and were very much impressed.A quick look at their a la carte menu showed we'd have been equally happy to dine in the evening. Apparently they do Sunday lunch as well. About time these parts had a decent place to eat!!
