Lets take you back to 1999, when you couldn? go into town and going to the cinema every week became a little repetitive. a trip to Harrogate Rd and a seat in the greatest Chinese restaurant this side of Beijing would be all you craved for a night packed full of flavour, a mellow ambience and a waiter eyeing you up. A man who invents a 'chicken in a paper bag' should be knighted. The Regent has and will always be there for you in a time of need..

I have used this restaurant for the last 15 years and can count on one hand the amount of times I have left unhappy. Always very helpful and try to fit you in even if the are busy. The only down side to this restaurant is the decor...please, please listen to your customers...you are in desperate need of a BIG face lift as are so many other Chinese around Leeds! After all these years your customers deserve it, the staff too will gain a better working environment.
Regent
I have dined at the Regent from being a young boy, having a birthday treat with my parents right through to now (I? 23). The establishment is local to me and the food has always been very good, I have never had a bad meal here which is quite rare as I have had disappointing meals at places like Bibi's and other quality establishments. All the usual Chinese and some Cantonese dishes available and the staff are always helpful, although when the place is quiet they can be too helpful (prob due to being bored!). Also what another reviewer said about the decor is pretty true, it could do with a facelift and a few quid spending on the inside, but as the place is always busy with locals (nice part of Leeds) this suggests that maybe the quality of food and location (local) matter more at this price level. Give it a go...
