What a hidden gem in Penzance!! Pizza on a wood fired oven, small but perfectly formed!! I have to say it is just about the best Pizza I have had for a long time.
When did you last watch the Pizza created in front of you by the owner, created to your own taste and served by friendly helpful staff, it was simply the best, followed by home made Tiramisu and coffee it was a perfect evening, the only negative is no wine on sale so remember to take your own.
I will be heading back to Cornwall very soon I hope, but PLEASE do not tell everyone, just your special friends I want to make sure they still have a table for me when I get back to Penzance. How about opening a branch in Manchester Ricardo?

Ricardo's is new in Penzance and the chef/owner does the best pizzas in West Cornwall (in my opinion). He makes his own pizza dough daily and has a magnificent wood-fired pizza oven.
We go regularly now and I have tried all the vegetarian pizzas, and Ricardo has been kind enough to do me half 'n' halfs when I haven't been able to decide which I want. My favourites are the Green Bay with sundried tomatoes, mascarpone cheese, pine-nuts and various other toppings, and the Garlic Special which is light but every bite is delicious in a different way. A committed carnivore, my husband has the fantastic "Las Vegas", a real meat feast, but he also enjoys the Barbecue Chicken and the Ricardo's Special made with king prawns.
There is a meal deal for kids which mine love, and we have totally fallen for the delicious Joe Delucci's ice-creams. Ricardo, who is very welcoming and friendly, tells us they are low in calories. I do believe him but I wouldn't care anyway. They are the perfect way to end a family meal.
Pastas, salads and desserts all look good but we haven't tried them, yet.
Most of all, Ricardo's is really good value for money. Delicious food and very reasonable prices.
