The Samsi has had a revamp and now looks more Japanese and very stylish. The food was as good as ever - light, fresh and tasty. You could watch the chef making your sushi and you can't get fresher than that. Their way with salmon is super and perfectly cooked - no overcooking here!

Superb food !! light fresh and authentic tasting . Relaxed stylish and really good value .. easily best Japanese food outside London .

I visited this restaurant a few weeks back and have to say that the food was very nice and definitely worth a visit, however, the atmosphere and decor weren't the best. Having lived in Japan for 2 years, I feel my living room had more of a Japanese feel than the restaurant.

Ive only been once but will be planning to return. The food is very nice and the atmosphere is amazingly relaxed, I was sat downstairs with many friends and the setting was just beautiful. The service was a bit slow, but it didn? really matter as the food made up for it. i recommend everyone to go there.

This was the first Japanese restaurant I took my Japanese wife to since she? moved to England... What I can say is that, the food was not bad, it was well cooked and served, unfortunately, and it wasn? what we would call true Japanese. We both tried the lunchtime £9.99 set meal. The miso soup was good, but was a bit basic, it? common in Japan to include some crabmeat if you are eating with sushi. I enjoyed the sushi, we were served spring roll, which isn? traditionally Japanese, followed by karage (fried chicken), a little rich in taste, and the a large plate, of Chinese flat noodles, spicy chicken breast, yakitori and rice... all in all we found the flavours very strong and to be honest a little Chinese, probably because we think the chef is Chinese. So yeah, a Chinese Japanese fusion restaurant.

We had an exceptional evening enjoying both brilliant food and wine, we will be back on many occassions.
