The Cottage on Newhouse Road is Blackpool’s most famous fish & chip shop, dating back to 1856 and a magnet for the stars over the years. It now has a new sister venue at Starr Gate in Blackpool, situated close by the southern terminus of the tram tracks. It’s open every day from 11.30am to 8pm (from 4pm Sundays) and both venues are owned and run by a Fleetwood fish merchant – so you know you can expect top-quality fish!

The food there isnt nice at all, use the same fat each day. The staff there are moody and only care about there selfs, they call people names, start arguements with people, i worked there for abit and they called me brain dead so i wouldnt advice going anywhere near these horrible people. Worst Fish n Chip shop in Blackpool.

just visited for Sunday afternoon Fish and Chip treat and very, very disappointed. The fish was burnt and dry, the chips were overcooked and the chicken nuggets were crispy pieces of batter. The service was unprofessional and a little brusque and overall the experience was a total let down. Will not be going again.

Great Fish and Chips thanks.

Visited this chip shop many times over the past 20 years and been delighted with the service and food. However on Friday the 2nd Nov 2012 I took friends and promised them a great meal. How wrong could I be! On entering there is a sign asking you to wait here for restaurant service. We did and when they came to serve us from behind the range we were bruskly told that we shold have sat down. The menu was limited, and the food scored a poor 4/10. For 4 persons it cost £32 which is scandalous. I certainly will not be visiting again!
