We were in the Tithe Barn on Saturday and came back on Tuesday for a meal. Didn't realise it was quiz night. Not really our thing. Had a super meal. Great service. Chilled atmosphere. We only saw 2 members of staff all night. The girl on the food and a lady serving at the bar. We didn't compete in the quiz but wish we had it was a great night. Best laugh we have had in a long time. Everyone joined in and supported Shannon (I think her name was) it was her first time at presenting the quiz. Her and the other lady on the bar were a great double act. Everyone had a great night. She should be resident quiz mistress. We are still laughing. Thank you girls. Wish we could give you 10/10

Am an ex Garstang lad now living in Australia went in for a quiet drink handed over a genuine 10 pound note then was confronted by the bar staff shouting at the top of her voice give me some real effin money instead of this fake crap lettin all of the pub hear, i dont mind being questioned because it was crisp and brand new out of an australian bank but you need customer service skills and how to talk to people, will never return and as will my friends in town, need to review your people skills !!!!!!

Was looking for a good meal however service very slow. 4 tables occupied only, had two with us 45 minutes later still no food. Very poor.

Absolutely lovely venue, great food friendly staff and a great start to a lovely evening with family, friends or just out with the dog!

My hubby and i met here some 19 years ago and often visit for special meals. We went in November and it was fantastic so after the birth of our little boy we decided to celebrate with our two older boys on Monday. How disappointed we were. I ordered the hot pot having had it previously to be served up a dish of microwaved slop!!! It was accompanied by a shop bought roll and no red cabbage as advertised. My hubby's meal of viking gammon did not come with any vegetables. |The boys meals were okay, throughout the whole time we were made to feel like we shouldn't be there as it was late afternoon when we arrived, even though we did check they still served food. Obviously they wanted to finish early and the whole experience was awful. would think twice about going again.

I have eaten here a few times and its been ok but I had a meal here on Sunday and I was disappointed really. We were given dirty cutlery that was clearly filthy; in fact I don’t think they had even been washed! I am quite funny with cleanliness and tried my best not to let it put me off my food but to be fair it did do. When the food arrived it looked nice enough but tasted bland and greasy, we had the mushroom, black pudding and chicken to start and then for the mains we had smothered chicken that was passable, sausage and mash (my dish) that just tasted cheap and the gravy tasted like oxo cubes….I didn’t eat much of it so that the dog was happy getting my left overs, and finally my mum had the seafood platter which she really enjoyed especially the roll mop herrings. Like I said the food is usually good here so maybe you were just having an off day but giving filthy cutlery out is just not acceptable…not sure if I will be coming here again which is a shame because this really is a lovely venue and the wines are great!

I had a lovely meal here with my parents at the weekend, I had lasagna which was homemade and tasted amazing, my mum had the Seabass that was to die for and my dad had the smothered chicken that was tender and beautiful…I know this because I kept eating theirs too!!!!! The cost was more than reasonable and the service was fantastic, we will be back and you should give this gem a try YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
