Without doubt my favourite restaurant for light years. Can hardly believe its in my mum & dad's village! Food is top class and just keeps on coming - it's incredible. The atmosphere is laid back, charming and effortless, you aren't rushed out of your chair the minute you stop eating (unlike some nearby restaurants I could mention). Beers, spirits and other delights from the cook's obviously varied travels sit alongside a kaleidoscope of bottles brought back by customers from every far flung place you can imagine - which, if you're lucky, he'll open an give you a swig of! Candle light and cool music (chef's son is also a very good DJ in his own right) make this the perfect place for relaxed, intimate nights with your significant other or a group of friends. As I said, my favourite place to eat! Going on Wednesday after a long absence...can not wait!

I have to say this has been one of the best and unexpected dining treats in a long time, from the ambience, the attentive staff and fantastic food.
An additional bonus was the live guitarist/singer (not usually a fan of live music whilst eating) who was superb and complimented the evening.
Overall 10 out of 10 and already recommended to several friends and colleagues, plus worth the effort of feeding back via this website!

Quite unlike any other restaurant we have eaten in before - FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!! this place had come recommended but for some reason we hadn't got round to trying it out. Not sure what to expect, we opened the door and popped our head through the curtain to which the owner/chef grabbed our hands and welcomed us in. His sense of humour was very hospitable and straight away we knew we were in for a 'different' dining experience. The chef passed us over to the waitress, who again was passionate, informative and welcoming. After choosing our drinks from a very extensive list we ordered our food and again the chef spared us some time and talked us through our choices. The food came and I can only say it was exceptional both in quality of produce and the way it was cooked. Having eaten and enjoyed food in top restaurants all over the world, this place, in its own little niche, is in my top ten.
Go with an open mind - its a completely different way of eating out that you will love. (it must be as its the first place I've been compelled to write a review about!!!)

four of us ate on Monday 3rd august at the vine bar and the first thing that sticks in your mind is the friendliness of the place and its unique atmosphere. The food is unlike any other and the owner was more than happy to discuss exactly what we wanted as one of our party was a vegitarian. We opted for the inclusive menu which featured salt and pepper chicken ....excellent.... sliced fillet steak with onions.....brilliant.. ..west indian pepper pot.. hot and very very tasty.. The food was wonderful and a great experience and full marks to everybody at the vine bar.

Having been recommended by several friends to try the vine bar in Eccleston i decided to go with friends last friday. All of were a little hesitant before going in but once inside WOW. THE FOOD IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT. so many flavours, obviously fresh, very varied and very very different. The large prawns are not cheap but an absolute delight cooked with lime jalapenos and garlic. The chinese chicken is exactly that with loads of flavour and a real authentic feel. All the dishes were perfect and we will be back very soon. p.s. service great

If you want a restaurant with a difference, this is it. We visited it on a Thursday night and had a fantastic meal, enjoyed the atmosphere, great quirky setting. You will not be disappointed with The Vine Bar, we will be back again with our friends, they will love this place.

Chorley Guardian gives 10 star rating in its restaurant review on May 20th extracts include The dining room is instantly recognisable like a quintessentially Parisian bistro. Its the sort of place where you would have expected James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway would have set the world to rights in a haze of smoke and gin in the 1920s. Like the decor the food too is a smorgasbord of inspiration Never before have i sampled French Italian British,Spanish and New Orleans food in one sitting.. THE PLACE IS AS MAD AS A BOX OF FROGS AND SO IS ITS PATRON The Vine bar is a holiday for the senses and that's why its still my favourite restaurant .

I have visited the Vine Bar several times and each time it has been an amazing night. My most recent visit on Friday was so good I felt I needed to do it some justice and write a recommendation. Apart from world class food and a great selection of wines and beers from around the world the Vine Bar has an ambience and atmosphere unrivaled to any other establishment I have entered. The staff are more than accommodating and you are never felt rushed or pestered in any way. I would have to put the Vine Bar in my top 5 places to go in the world IT'S THAT GOOD!

Went the vine bar last Saturday, the food and wine was fab. We were welcomed by lovely staff, and the sound of a solo guitarist. The atmosphere was great all night, and we were treated to 3 spots from the guitarist, who also had a great singing voice, without being to loud( like other venues)
We will be back with friends next time.
Keep up the good work!
