Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellLovely surroundings and a great atmosphere. The staff always make you feel welcome and the food is excellent. Perfect restaurant for any occasion and is fabulous on a sunny day/evening for eating Al Fresco.

Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellWe are regulars at salute and we love it!! Food is excellent, service is superb and the surroundings are lovely. They always really look after us when we visit and even remember our son's name! Yes the food is not cheap but it is worth it. Well worth a visit.
Salute @ The White Swan – Rothwell"Salute Restaurant in Rothwell Leeds. What a terrible place! Please save yourselves the hassle and don’t waste your time or money here, the staff have their own unique interpretation of customer service. You cannot book between the hours of 7pm and 9pm on a Saturday (fair enough). We turned up at 7.15pm in party of three and were told it'd be a 45 minute wait. AS there's no-where else to wait we ended up sitting at the bar drinking very over-priced drinks. 75 minutes later we lead to a table and our order's taken, the starters were rather nice, .. so far so good, but we then had to wait ages for our main courses, it was 9.30 before they were served. I ordered the cheese tartlets and they were terrible! Far too much stilton and immensely overpowering, I took one mouthful and then had to wait for a good 5 minutes before being able to attract the attention of the waiting staff to send it back (by which time my mouth had swollen up and my tongue was sore, such was the power of the cheese they’d loaded these tartlets with. I love strong cheese but have never experienced anything like this). I ordered another dish, but as my companions had almost finished their meal and it was 10.15pm I immediately decided to cancel this order, However there was no sign of any waiting staff so I had to get up and find a member of the waiting staff to cancel the order. 10 minutes after I cancelled the order, it turned up! Of course I informed the waitress the order was cancelled, she then came back and said I still had to pay for it! (Legally this is not the case in UK law). I asked to speak to the manager who was surely and very unfriendly, and also unaware of the UK law, she too insisted I had to pay for this main course I’d cancelled. She made quite a scene in front of other diners, perhaps to attempt to embarrass us, but she managed only to embarrass herself. Eventually the owner came out to our table; she ALSO insisted I should pay for this cancelled order. Of course I offered to leave my name and address and leave the amount I thought the order I sent back was worth (I actually think they should have paid ME compensation, it was THAT bad)… at which point the owner then asked us to leave!!! Hilarious, we were ordered out of a restaurant for not liking the first dish and then cancelling the second order and refusing to pay for the cancelled second order…. What a joke! Would seriously recommend you avoid this place. Apart from our terrible experience; there really is no-where else to go whilst you wait for your table, there is very limited seating at the bar whilst you wait for your tale, the drinks are over-priced, and don’t expect any amount of customer service. Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellI've visited Salute a few dozen times since they relocated from Oulton. The food is consistently excellent and it is rare to be disappointed with any aspect of a visit. We often visit just for a drink, and although a little more expensive then pubs in the area, it more than makes up for this in service and ambiance. On many occasions when we have visited early in the evening for the Early Bird menu we brought our baby daughter and received a wonderful welcome from the staff. This really makes a difference. In summary: the best restaurant for miles around.
Salute @ The White Swan – Rothwellvisited salute on Monday night for the first time since January had a great night food was very nice, Service very fast a professional, Very nice wine list, We would Highly Recommend you visit.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellEaten here a few times & never been disappointed, the Sunday lunch is especially good.Drinks are a bit pricey though for what is at best a gastropub & along with the other reviewers i agree that the service charge is v.cheeky.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellWe've eaten here a couple of times as its great to have a decent restaurant in Rothwell. The food is lovely and the service is good too. However, it is vastly overpriced for what it is. I think we're paying for the refurb and new location personally. Come on guys, it is Rothwell not the city centre!
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellLike the new premises, great ambience with singer/musician, holiday feel. Got the tandoori seabass with noodles, very good, although should come with a side-veg/sideline. Partner got chicken ala creme, sauce a little bland although overall he enjoyed the dish. The food at the restaurant very well presented. Overall a great place to dine ..although One snag.. we were rather annoyed on receiving bill that a 'service charge ' of £5 was added for 2 to dine! Surely this should be on the menu in small-print(or is it..in magnify print!?.) plus why a SC?.. come on.. We are in Rothwell not London!

Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellLovely new premises although I still preferred the old premises at Woodlesford. The food is still great and the ambience lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellWe visited salute on Monday night, it was our first time at the new restaurant. we were very impressed the place was very smart and welcoming, Food was outstanding and service was very good, we were made very welcome we will be back for Christmas
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellOverall was very impressed with the food and lively surroundings, although we had a table booked a week in advance and on the night had to wait over 30 mins to be seated - maybe they should consider doing away with reservations altogether? Is a joy to finally have a restaurant in Rothwell - would like to see a couple more for some healthy competition.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellSalute's new restaurant at the old White Swan is a real success. No longer the cheap and cheerful bistro it once was when in Oulton it is now a paid up member of the classy restaurant club. Good menu, great choice, friendly staff and a real shot in the arm for Rothwell. Let's hope the standard is maintained.
