We visited The Old Smithy on a friend’s recommendation. All I can say is brilliant service and brilliant food - in fact I can honestly say I had the best steak pie I’ve ever tasted. I can completely endorse the recommendation!

The Old Smithy – RugbyI hadn't been here for awhile due to having a bad experience, on hearing that there was a new manager I thought ok I'll give it a try, so glad I did. The food was delicious, service was great, the atmosphere was good even though there was strict social distancing due to covid-19. The place was also very clean and every care was being taken to keeping everywhere clean.

Never met a manager that was as rude as him and for the Chavy man/boy behind the bar that sat us, he was just disgusting!! The way he spoke to us was diabolical! if it wasn’t for the fact I was hungry I would’ve just turned away. We waited 25 minutes to order food because we wasn’t told how we ordered food.. and when we asked for the bill the manager rolled his eyes launched his pad onto the bar huffing and puffing and when we didn’t give a tip the manager sarcastically laughed and said fine then..
The Old Smithy – RugbyConsidering how quite it was I was surprised the quality of the food had gone down since my last visit. Ordered a steak medium rare. Come out closer to medium well. Peppercorn sauce had obviously been sat for a long time that when it arrived at our table it has a thick skin on the top. I was out for a 3 yr olds birthday. I wasn’t sending my food back for it to be delayed, Just wanted to eat and leave.
