My family and I had a most enjoyable Sunday lunch, a wee birthday celebration. The choice on the menu was excellent, staff friendly and accommodating and most importantly the food was delicious.

The dessert followed and was good too. The attention from the waiting staff was good as well. All in all a pleasant experience.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingWe had a lovely evening at Cronies Restaurant within The Golden Lion Hotel. The food and service were both excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. It was made extra special with having the pianist there playing beautiful songs to accompany our meal. I would highly recommend it.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingWe had lunch as usual my cousin had the steak pie which was cold I had the macaroni which was olso cold and clumped together and tasted bland the chips were olso just warm this is the second time this had happened we did tell the waitress who must have told another lady who took our drinks price of the bill they really need to up their game or we won’t b going back

Nice scampi and chips, very plentiful..however, no nice welcoming smile from a waitress who looked very unhappy, and I felt stuck at a dark table in the (empty) dining room! Sorry, but not happy with the ambience within the Golden Lion which is a place I always loved. What has happened to training standards and the reputation of a fine establishment?? Disappointed.

The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingInteresting incident whilst having dinner 30/3/26. The meal was lovely and the restaurant was quiet (luckily). The background music was "old people blend" Manilow, Neil Diamond etc, suddenly there was a generational shift and a "rap" artist gave his modern slant. I cannot give a full rendition but suffice to say the use of the "F and N" combination was liberally shouted to enhance our dining experience. It was different.

The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingCouldn’t fault the food , piano player very good but a little loud , staff were very friendly, although service was quite slow, when asked for the bill they brought someone else’s, then on our bill extra juices were added that we didn’t have . We did enjoy our evening and will return again.

The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingWe arrived at 6.30pm. It wasn't that busy for a Friday night. Right away I was concerned as they are still using their Festive menu!! It's changed since I was last year and there was a piano player in the centre of the room. He was very good. My only negative is that he played 'louder' when a group of 8 ladies came into the restaurant. This meant it became rather noisy and we had to speak louder to hear ourselves. 3 (of the 6) had starters. These were cleared away however we then waited over an hour for our main course. While waiting a waiter did approach us and ask if we'd had our starters! He then returned 5 minutes later with main courses but they weren't ours. They were fir the table next to us who still had their starter plates on the table. I observed the save waiter wandering around with other starters and again trying to serve to a wrong table. I'm giving Cronies Restaurant 3 stars because the food was nice once it finally arrived. But the service was very poor. It wasn't that busy so I'm unsure why the chef took so long to make our main courses.
