Excellent food and great service, staff friendly and helpful. Currently one of the best places to eat out in the Seaton/Axmouth/Colyton area and much better than overpriced Lyme!

The Harbour Inn – SeatonVery friendly and welcoming . Food of a good quality and service excellent
The Harbour Inn – SeatonThe staff were friendly and helpful as they always have been when we have previously been there. As we had a later booking for lunch they had ran out of lamb so we went for beef and pork dishes. The veg was absolutely lovely but unfortunately the beef was slightly chewy and the pork quite fatty. Wouldn’t put us off going again though may choose an earlier time.
The Harbour Inn – SeatonWe had a meal a few weeks ago after taking the dog for a walk on the beach. Very fresh, very local seafood beautifully cooked. Are we going back soon? Yes we are.Do I recommend this restaurant to others? Yes I certainly do.
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonFantastic high quality, locally sourced food at very reasonable prices. It has an extensive range of tasty fish dishes and a friendly, cosy atmosphere with excellent customer service. all the dishes were well presented and there is a clear passion for good food. Beer is a beautiful little village too. I cannot recommend this pub enough, it's a real gem.
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonMy fiance and I both enjoyed a lovely roast lunch today at Trotters in Seaton. As always the food was beautifully cooked and presented, (gravy very special every time) and the owners make you very welcome. A really good place in Seaton to eat.
Trotters Restaurant – SeatonWanted to quickly update or 2006 review. The Barrel is going from strength to strength. Luke Hunt has now taken over the management of the Barrel and there is a new chef. The wonderful attention to detail remains and if anything has gotten even better. The food remains wonderful and has actually stepped up a gear. The cuisine is now, daily, on a standard with the dishes that one used to get only on special occasions. Excellent place!
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonIt's ok about 7.5 out of 10 but opened on Sundays.
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant – SeatonWhen ever i visit seaton i always use this pub. The staff are very friendly and polite, the food is excellent what ever time of the day you go, also the Sunday dinners are very good you get a good choice of locally grown veg and meat from local farms
Kings Arms The – SeatonExcellent place! Only went in there two nights and I feel as I know all in there already. Great atmosphere and great beer! If you go in ask if MAN AT THE BAR is around!
Winstons Bar and Grill – SeatonI was in winstons bar on Wednesday and I asked the owner if he cooked Indian food, he said there was nothing on the menu but he would cook us something. 15 minutes later our food came from the kitchen. Much to our surprise it was an indian meal and I have to say I eat a lot of indian food and I have never had a meal like it, it was the best indian meal I have ever tasted and the service was fantastic.
Winstons Bar and Grill – SeatonReading through a local paper I came across a 2-courses for £5 offer and thought I'd give it a try. Having previously tried some of the Times or Telegraph's similar promotions I was not sure what to expect. Here was a very tasty menu with some great British classics, such as homemade Sheppard's Pie followed by one of my old time favourites; Baked Apple. I can only say very delicious! (You can decide between starter and main course or main course and dessert for £5.00, but it had to be dessert for me!) I believe the promotion runs until the end of April and I shall certainly be returning for this one.
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonA nice restaurant/bar, just out of the way of the "town centre". Probably the best place in Seaton to eat out. Went on a Friday night, which was when we discovered the restaurant, and had a lovely evening meal, followed by a highly enjoyable night spent in the "disco" which we were told is a regular Friday night occurrence. Would definitely recommend, if you're out and about in Seaton!
Winstons Bar and Grill – SeatonI was very pleasantly surprised to discover Winston's restaurant - after only having known about the bar beforehand. The size of the portions was very good for the price, and the menu was quite varied, and catered for our whole family with no problems. Service was also very good. Highly recommended!
Winstons Bar and Grill – Seatonfor good British grub, Trotters cafe is a must. very extensive menu. Large meals (not for the faint hearted). children made more than welcome. not for those looking to eat in style, but the owners have lots of freshly cooked meals all homemade. special oap deals. every on catered for.
Trotters Restaurant – SeatonWhat a pleasant surprise. After the themed sameness of so many pubs it is wonderful to find a genuinely unique local pub which is truly family run. ?he Barrel? is situated on the main street of the delightful Devon Fishing Village of Beer between Seaton and Sidmouth. The coast path goes right through Beer and the Barrel is the perfect place to stop for refreshment. Roberta Hunt and her husband Geoff, with the help of their sons Luke and Robert and Robert? wife Eva have created a haven for the weary wanderer, the jaded tourist and especially for people living in and around Beer. The bar in small but well laid out with a smoking and non-smoking section. Both are warmed by open fires in Winter and cooled by the sea breezes in Summer. Behind the bar is a delightful non-smoking dinning room with 5 tables - perfect for a more intimate dining experience. The Barrel has a small but excellent wine list with a good selection of the world? wines, although it would be nice if more of them could be available by the glass. The chef, Robert, trained in some of the finest restaurants in the UK and abroad and it shows. Although on paper the food starts with ?tandard?pub fare, the attention to detail and the quality of ingredients make these a rare treat. The menu though is more wide ranging than this with wholesome specials made from local produce. Flavours are combined with a simplicity that belies the effort that has been made, (the game stew is a favourite as is the locally caught seafood). On special occasions the evening menus are wonderful with fresh seasonal produce and an atmosphere which is friendly and welcoming without ever being intrusive. Living now in the USA we make a beeline for the Barrel whenever we are home in Devon.
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonExcellent food in a nice restaurant overlooking the huge garden at the back of the pub.The garden is ideal if you have children because there is a large safe area for them and there are lots of playthings for them also there are some guinea pigs iin a large cage to look at. the view is outstanding looking out over the hills. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent.
Kings Arms The – SeatonI am writing to recommend my local pub:THE BARREL O' BEER to you. Over the last few years, the pub has undergone a complete transformation and now offers a great variety of delicious gourmet dishes. As part of a seaside village, fish is a prominent item on the menu and I have found this to be no bad thing. A particularly popular dish is the SEAFOOD PLATTER. It consists of oysters, langoustine, lobster, crab, mussels, and prawns and is served on an eye-catching bed of crushed ice. All the seafood is of course entirely fresh really tasty. All the food is cooked to order and presented in a very appetising way, with the menu changing to refiect the seasons. Apart from the great food, the welcome provided by this family-run business is always very warm and you get the feeling that the people really care about their customers, always happy to help out where they can. A reacent addition is the non-smoking restaurant, which is often fully booked and offers table service and more special touches. The pub has transformed itself from a rather rowdy, drinking pub to a pub, which offers good quality, freshly prepared meals and is definitely worth a visit.
