Honestly the weirdest pub we’ve ever been to. Zero atmosphere, no music or background noise so you’re forced to listen to everyone around you eating and scraping their plates, food took forever to come out and then it was lukewarm, dry microwaved rubbish. Decor is dated and old fashioned. Just not good at all. It has such potential but it’s just naff with no atmosphere or character.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here, we both chose the Murphys Stew accompanied with new potatoes, mash and fresh vegetables, the steak melted in your mouth and tasted delicious, a generous portion that I couldn’t finish. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Thank you Gillian and Craig, we’ll be back soon.

Fabulous lunch had by all brilliant service , and desserts to die for . Generous portions will definitely be calling again .

Excellent honest pub food, plenty of choice, good quality, good value and a very fair portion size too. Would highly recommend.

Damp smelling , loose fitting carpet trip hazard , no light in gents toilet , Bar very wet and sticky Staff friendly enough Some of the food was ok but chips all undercooked Very tired pub in need of some updating We left immediately after we ate

Excellent evening meal and cooked breakfast, good service, friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation.

Booked a table for two at 7:30 on the day we arrived in Long Preston as we were traveling from Somerset. Arrived 10 minutes late but were told it was not a problem as the pub was far from busy. Got our drinks and were shown to a table were we waited for 20 minutes and finally had to ask for a menu. After another 30 minutes we asked to order and were told that the chef had instructed the staff not to take any more orders until the previous orders had all been done. We paid for our drinks and walked out and cancelled a booking we had made for a later date. They are having staffing problems so if there are more than six tables already taken than you are in for a very long wait.

We had a lovely time at The Boars Head pub/hotel. The food and room was amazing and had a lovely, friendly and cosy atmosphere. Couldn’t wait to get back from our 3 Peak walk for a nice hot bubble bath and cold Pint :). Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely time at the Boar's head! Food was okay and they have a lovely selection of draught beers to choose from! Staff was super nice and the atmosphere was lovely.
