We ate here as we were going to watch the lion king and we wanted somewhere near. I’m glad we did, the food was lovely, I had fish and chips, my daughter had salmon pasta and the kids had pizza and Mac and cheese. Everyone loved the food and the kids actually ate all theirs which is a first. Nice size portions cooked too order and very tasty. Staff were lovely, it was busy and there was a bit of a wait but they worked really hard to make sure people got their meals before the show started. Good work girls. Would definitely eat here again.

Have a lovely lunch at The Quarter Lounge, it was tasty, plenty and served hot. The staff were friendly and polite, Initially the waiting staff were efficient but as time went on they became slow. It took almost 20 minutes to clear our table after the mains. We had a show to go to, so we decided not to have a dessert. We waited around 5 minutes to see someone to ask for the bill. After receiving the bill no one came to take our money, so we went to the bar and paid the waitress in cash who seem confused as to why we were paying her. Would we visit here again, yes as the food was very good

Nice place. Quick service which was handy as going to see a show. Reasonable prices (mains only) Food was presented nicely but there was so much salt in the food that both our meals were impossible to finish. Not sure we would go back

My partner and I visited for a meal before a trip to the Mayflower Theatre. Absolutely fantastic meals! Honestly, I have been dreaming about it since we went! The staff were all so friendly and efficient. Fantastic value for money, we will absolutely be going again soon.

Our family of 9, including four children , visited after seeing The Lion King. It was a great end to a lovely afternoon. Our waiter was so friendly and drinks and food arrived very quickly. The kids menu was brilliant and their food, especially the pizza, was very good quality. The adults’ was just as good! We’d definitely return.

2nd pre theatre visit. This was a very disappointing experience. Two chicken dishes ordered, underdone with traces of blood. Servers gave two of us a ‘free’ glass of wine as recompense. Charged and Paid for meals in full. Ordered 3 scoops of ice cream and an Elton mess. The ice cream came with loads of unwanted tasteless berries over the ice cream , tasted but uneaten. Charged and paid in full. Elton mess had a similar topping again tasted but uneaten. Charged and paid in full. Servers were seemingly understanding and apologetic but their manner was not reflected in the total price Charged.

Booked for 5:15 pm before theatre. Bit of a mix up with the starters and mains but offered refund and the food was delicious. Did get busy so would book early if you need to leave for a show. Would definitely return.

My wife and I had dinner at The Platform yesterday. She had a salad and I had a seafood linguine, one of the signature dishes. We both enjoyed it very much. The cuisine and the ambiance were very good and the staff were helpful and friendly. Many pubs try to achieve the standard of cuisine you expect in a good restaurant but The Platform succeeds.

Booked a 17:45 table before a show at the Mayflower. Waiting staff were excellent and good range of drinks and food available and a nice ambience! Our starters were delivered in good time and were very tasty - our mains took a long time to arrive - we had to chase them twice and they finally arrived just after 19:15 by a very embarrassed and apologetic waiter. We ate what we could in the time we had and it was excellent but sadly rushed. We were offered a significant refund by the management and further apologies - the apologies were accepted, the refund declined as these are challenging times for all especially in the service industry! I would happily eat there again and highly recommend the venue - the restaurant is upstairs so not easily accessible to all but good food and good choice of alcohol - just have a reservation before 17:45 and watch the time if you have a theatre reservation!

Our first visit which won’t be the last. There were five of us, two adults and three 11-13 year olds. The staff were superb! Helpful and friendly and nothing was too much bother . We ordered 2 carbonara which came as we’d asked with linguine instead of spaghetti. Two boys shared an adult pizza and had sides of chips and garlic bread. One had a child’s meal - first course, drink, pudding. The one drawback was a very long wait after ordering before the food arrived . It took nearly an hour and this was quite a bit longer than I’d expect and also there was no warning of this. The carbonaras were exceptional. The most delicious sauce , beautifully cooked linguine and bacon, chicken etc. The garlic ciabatta which came with it was also exceptional. Not stinting in garlic or butter, just perfect. The child’s meal, chicken goujons was clearly slices of breast and not a cheaper cut . The pizza and sides were devoured by the boys. There was then a very long wait again sadly before the dishes were cleared- we stacked them ourselves in the end - and when the server came I explained we were running on a short time budget by that stage and needed the child’s included scoop of ice cream plus a scoop for each of the others who’d shared the adult pizza, really quickly. The young server said that would be ok but it clearly wasn’t and 20 minutes later we were forced to ask for the bill and remove the extra ice creams from it. I was very unhappy at seeing that instead of one scoop to match the included one, I’d been charged £4:95 each for the adult ice cream which included a compote. I know that this was on the menu but thought common sense would prevail and a child’s scoop for each, just like the included one, would have been ordered. So we left cash on the table and exited . Luckily our memory of the meal is the gorgeous carbonara but the waiting times do need to be shortened especially when you consider that in that area of town , most customers around the 5:30 - 6:30 start are those wanting a ore theatre meal. I will certainly visit again but probably not with youngsters who were bored and hungry for far too long. Food is four/five star Service is four star Waiting times are two to three star

Discovered The Platform in 2021 when we based the yacht in Southampton TQ. Such a well run place, with regular friendly on-he=ball staff, serving a great changing variety of beers, decent wines and the food is above pub average too. But the real plus is the astounding level of live music here - check out their website. Stuart the manager is clearly very well connected and brings in some amazing musicians.

We booked lunch (Sunday Roast) for 6 people. TIP Initially shown to the wrong table in the restaurant, asked very nicely to move to another table. For me the only problem was that it was in the bar not restaurant and not so light. Lady manager suggested we should specify where we want to be seated when we book next time The food was blooming delicious, best roast I’ve had in ages! We all enjoyed our meal! Thanks to everyone
