10/10 lovely staff and atmosphere amazing food , can't wait for next visit

After a long time in wanting to; and having never booked for Sunday lunch we arrived and were seated as a party of four in the booth. A great warm welcome and attentive service to start for Sunday lunch we had the roasts; desserts and wine for the table followed by tea and coffee. The food was delightful and the Lemon Posset pudding a particular highlight. Having been at the table for 2 hours and having booked this an an extended lunch where we wanted to spend time over lunch and then tea (coffee machine was broken); we were a bit taken aback when a staff member approached the table (when we had not finished our teas or been asked did we want to order anything else). She then uttered the following words which killed the whole experience which had been so good up until then; ‘We will bring you the bill now as the table is needed for the next guests and you have two hours here only’ No ‘would you like to continue at the bar or another area within the pub’ a proper would you like to go now we have finished with you. Have. Spent a fair amount of money on the whole lunch it was not only rude but uncalled for. I appreciate that there may have been a time limits but it wasn’t mentioned on the online booking; not mentioned when we arrived and basically was a sad end to an otherwise positive experience. This is such a simple thing but when people at spending a few hundred pounds for a special occasion that’s been planned for months; I would have hoped for more. Menu was slightly on the pricey side for the mains.

Another great evening with excellent food and wine at the Flo. Dan and the staff are always friendly. Looking forward to Christmas Drinks in the Flo.

Great visit, would definitely come again if in the area. Lovely welcome from the staff, no issue with bringing our dogs. Only had non-alcoholic drinks. Meals were all delicious, the portions were probably a bit too large as we didn't have room for dessert! This was a shame as I'm sure they were delicious. Staff attentive and friendly, restaurant super clean. Thanks!

Really lovely roast - one of our party is coeliac and the approach / service of the venue gave us confidence that they know what they're doing. The food was excellent as was the service. We'll definitely go back!

Such an amazing and beautiful place, my partner and I wanted to try out roasts in Portsmouth but we haven’t looked any further since finding The Florence Arms, the servers are lovely and the food is incredible! Look forward to going back there very soon!

utterly delicious

Brilliant gem for Sunday lunch. Each one of our party (of 6) loved their roasts, (we had them all, chicken, pork, beef and the veggie wellington) along with top notch cauliflower cheese, a must and no issues requesting additional gravy. Exceptionally good service and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

Slightly limited menu for Sunday lunch as far as starters go, but very tasty mains and desserts…good value and nice atmosphere!

Fantastic food after the Great South Run. Food was great, service was spot on. Staff were friendly and a fab atmosphere for Sunday lunch.

Very nice restaurant with friendly service staff. We had Egg,Ham & chips and a burger & chips. Food was tasty and prices were reasonable. Enjoyed the ambience.

Delicious home cooked food, with a considered menu. Great atmosphere with a lovely welcome and service. Thoroughly recommend the ham, egg and chips - a simple classic made with brilliant ingredients and elevated!
