The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeUmpteenth time coming here for a Sunday dinner - never ever disappoints. Great value for money, tasty food and plenty of it- highly recommend the sharing platter and their expresso martinis are the perfect decadent way to finish off the meal!
The Copper Cow – Sowerby Bridge5 star
The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeMy wife and I went for her birthday and our anniversary . It was our first visit and we went on the strength of the reviews. I had the ribeye steak which was not very good, it didn’t melt in my mouth and on chewing it got bigger and hard to swallow, I persevered with it but left a good half. My wife had the flat iron steak that was really good, she felt sorry for me and gave me a slice of hers that’s how I know that was good. I should have said something really but didn’t, on reflection I should have more for constructive criticism. We then shared a hot choc sundae, warm very nice. The food served up on the other surrounding tables looked amazing and made me wish I’d tried something different , never mind, I will try it again for sure. Staff were friendly and polite so could not not leave them a tip. We will come again Cheers Paul
The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeJust about the best steak I’ve ever had. Great service and the owner made us feel more than welcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Copper Cow.
The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeFabulous food, would definitely come again. Shame there were not more people booked in, but it was lunchtime.
The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeMy husband & I plus our 19 yr old daughter came for a meal on Saturday. At 8:30 pm. We had not been for a while, but the food was still as good as we remembered. To start with we shared the garlic & cheese flat bread, For the mains I had a classic burger with bacon & cheese. Our daughter had a buttermilk chicken burger, & my husband had the corn beef hash. For desert we shared the sticky toffee sundae. The food was delicious & at the end we where all stuffed. The food quality is excellant & I would say good value for money. The staff are friendly & service is very good. I would definitely recommend.
The Copper Cow – Sowerby BridgeFantastic meal and friendly, helpful staff - will definitely return
Firehouse Restaurant & Cafe Bar – Sowerby BridgeBoth my friend and I have been to the Hobbit over the last two weeks and being the only meal of the day we've both shared both of us had diarrhea within three hours of leaving on both occasions. The first time we'd put it down to a blip in the kitchen or bad supply of meat etc but for the same to happen the following week is not on so we'll be giving it a miss from now on which is a shame as we both like the place. Hey ho.
The New Hobbit Country Inn – Sowerby BridgeReally lovely fish and chips. The kids loved their nuggets too. Definitely going again next week but probably on a Tuesday because there's an offer about a free small sauce which looks good!
Marina – Sowerby BridgeMy daughter and I went about three weeks ago, I have a broken leg and they made me really comfortable and provided excellent, impressive food and a lovely atmosphere. Its BYO - corkage - no problem, works out very good value for money.
Cafe No.5 – Sowerby BridgeWe went for romantic meal last night the food was lovely, staff very pleasant and meal good value for money
Cafe No.5 – Sowerby BridgeHighly recommended for everyone, regardless of whether your a vegetarian of full blown meat eater. Small but perfectly formed menu, great atmosphere and friendly personal service
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby BridgeWent to Dandelion and Burdock last night with my dad and a friend. Me and my dad had the smoked tofu stir fry, and my friend had the corn tortillas with soya mince chilli. After being told by my vegan friend that it's a great place, and seeing that it's been awarded accolades for top notch veggie food, I was made to feel very bad for suggesting we tried something different and go to a vegetarian place for tea. This isn't a gripe about vegetarian food. This is a gripe about bland and overcooked food. My noodles were dry, lacked sauce and flavour. The noodles were overcooked, and the tofu tasted of nothing. Considering tofu's awesome ability to absorb flavour, this was clearly some kind of wizardry for a vegetarian restaurant. There was no salt and pepper on the table, so I wasn't able to give my plate a boost of flavour. My friend who ordered the tortillas doesn't like flour tortillas, however, 1 out of 3 tortillas was flour, thankfully the portion of chilli was so frugal, the 2 corn tortillas sufficed. Also, the avocado was under ripe. I really wanted to be able to rave about this restaurant, however, felt underwhelmed and disappointed. What a shame, vegetarian food is brilliant, and needs to be eaten by more people. I really wanted to be able to recommend Dandelion and Burdock to friends
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby BridgeI took my visiting son to a drum workshop in Halifax one Saturday morning recently and on the way out he fell into conversation with a young lady called Tigger. They soon discovered they were both vegans and Tigger suggested we try D & B for lunch. Off the 3 of us went and oh, what a great place. It was nearly empty but still had bags of atmosphere and the food was delicious. I am just about to book for my birthday. Thanks Tigger.
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby Bridgea welcoming atmosphere and it was nice to see that the children's choices were catered for, staff were friendly and helpful thoroughly pleasant evening was had by all.
Syhiba – Sowerby BridgeWent to this place last night Saturday 20th March 2011, I was with friends and family and we had prior booked a table, on our arrival I noticed that the bar staff were miserable and during the meal I was forced on two occasions to leave the table to order and fetch back drinks, the service was simply rubbish, I found the food just like typical pub food but very very over priced, needless to say I will not be returning... not in a million years!
Moorcock Inn – Sowerby BridgeI went to the Moorcock last night Saturday 19th March with family and friends, We all had a starter and main course and I have to be honest I will never go back to this place I was so disappointed, the bar staff were miserable and I was forced to go to the bar from our table on two occasions to order and bring back drinks to our table, I felt that I was actually doing their job for them, I found it very pricey when it came to the bill and the food wasn't at all any different to pub food, in all it was a let down and a bad experience, I would never recommend this place to anyone.
