Antons – St. Annes-On-SeaI live in St Annes, had a take away last week best chips I've had for along time, going to try the Restaurant today.
The Haven Fish Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaIve been going to the Bilash for a while now as i am local. excellent food, no gimmicks - just fresh tasty food. Service is always excellent. They have also started doing free deliveries if you wanted a take-away.
Bilash Balti – St. Annes-On-SeaI have lots of nice thing to say about the food & service at Anatolia. It is a lovely family run business, run in all sincerity. We as a family have absolutely loved eating there specially because of the friendly atmosphere and excellent food served .The food is a perfect blend of the West and East, very juicy, yet not spicy, suitable to all palates. The Belly dancing night is an added night of great fun & vibrance, which resounds the authenticity of the whole cuisine---I simply recommend it as 'the best' in town.We in St Annes are very lucky to have the best turkish restaurant in town.A must try---!!!!
Anatolia – St. Annes-On-SeaMy son treated me to dinner at The Olive tree yesterday and every mouthful was delicious from starter to yummy dessert,I can,t recommend it highly enough and I can't wait to visit again .The service was excellent too ,discreet but on the ball.
Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaThe food is fine, the service however is shocking! We were frequently left for very long periods with no drinks or food and when mentioned to staff, one of them proceeded to shout across the restaurant at us in front of customers!!
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaWas utterly disgusted by the behaviour of the staff at this restaurant - in particular a very aggressive lady with frizzy ginger hair. To summarise, my wife was verbally abused in front of both myself, my friends, and the rest of the restaurant. Very disappointed and will not be returning. At the beginning of the evening everything seemed ok, but shortly after we arrived it was noticeable that the number of people in the restaurant was going affect the service. We were sat down to choose our food and left to contemplate the situation for a further 30 minutes. After choosing our food we noted that several people around us that arrived later were not only served sooner, but also had food arrive, and subsequently leave quicker, all before we had finished our main course. At every opportunity following this we tried to convey our disappointment with the staff. At the end of meal we tried to discuss this issue with the first available member of staff. This apparent "mute" left mid-conversation to acquire somebody who could comprehend the English language. At this point a lady (ginger, frizzy hair) arrived and positioned herself immediately next to my wife. Within 10 seconds of the conversation starting she interrupted the conversation asking if we were unhappy with the food OR unwilling to pay. Given these two options we jointly agreed it was 'unwilling to pay'. In reality it was not unwilling to pay but simply we were unhappy with the service - but we were not given this option. This caused significant issues within the restaurant and we were then surrounded by several members of staff. This was not only uncomfortable but very confrontational and aggressive from a customer service point-of-view. Soon after this I heard one member of staff demand why we had sat through 2.5 hours of the meal, eating and drinking what we had. This was not the point. Our argument was in the time it took, then subsequently aggravated by the rude members of staff. At this point I asked why they were being so aggressive to which the reply was barked at me "we are trying to run a business" - not very well was my reply! Having said all this, one senior member of staff kindly gave us a £20 discount, something we neither asked for or needed, but this at least acknowledged the continued abuse we received whilst trying to leave. Personally I would have paid the full bill given the quality of the food, but felt abused and angry that we were being accused of being difficult customers when all we wanted was to be served within a respectable timeframe. I will not be returning again, despite the excellent quality of the food.
Margherita – St. Annes-On-Seanot recommended at all, made a complaint about the service and one of the members of staff (A women with curly hair) shouted across the restaurant at me after walking away from me as i tried to explain the problem as she continued to shout she moved across the room to me and shouted in my face, i have never experienced such low standards of customer service. avoid at all costs.
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaDon't be hungry when you go to the Mogul as it took over 1hr to get our main course, when we ask the Manager where our food was he said the staff were fasting or praying?? just like us praying for our food absolutely crap service the Manager even sat down and ate why we ere waiting for our main course, so e weren't next he was, terrible service, and then they charge us double for 2 rice portions 8.40 instead of 4.80, simply not up to standards.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaLast-minute decision to eat out and we chose the Grand in St Annes. Quite busy and this was a Monday evening which is a good sign. Really enjoyed the food – warm potted Lytham shrimps, rib eye with Bearnaise, sticky toffee pudding – and the Chablis on their list was pretty good too. I like the vibe here which is more city centre than seaside. And being a wine geek I love the fact that they have proper stemware (Riedel-style Bordeaux glasses) which you rarely find outside of the high-end Michelin places. Highly recommended.
Cafe Grand – Grand Hotel – St. Annes-On-SeaGo, eat, enjoy and discover what Olivers regulars already know. Freshly and expertly made, tasty and generous portions, fantastic prices, you'll not be disappointed. A real highlight is the paella, your patience while it's prepared will be rewarded with an attractive and delicious dish.
Olivers – St. Annes-On-SeaWe have eaten here a number of times & the food is fabulous. Great for families (the kids love the pizzas and pasta dishes and the scrummy ice cream!) Oliver the chef has a real passion for food & it sings through in every dish. The paella is definitely worth trying (you need to book this in advance) - we had a mixed chicken & seafood one (great of you aren't all seafood mad) - fantastic depth of flavour, very tasty.
Olivers – St. Annes-On-SeaSurprised at how nice the food was here last Sunday. We went for a walk with the dog and ate outside by the lake. I had a very pleasant fish pie and the wife had a retro ham and eggs. Simple but tasty all round. Also it was £16 with drinks, nice.
Fairhaven Lakeside Cafe – St. Annes-On-SeaDined at The Moghul on the 23rd July. From the start the service was fantastic. Welcomed in by the manager who asked us to relax and take a seat while they prepared our table. Offered a complimentary sample dish, which was fantastic. All of the food was cooked to a very high standard. Reasonably priced too. Offered a complimentary drink at the end of the meal. If I had to make one criticism it would be nice to have a slightly bigger portion. It was sufficient for my girlfriend however I would have liked a little more. A fantastic restaurant, will be visiting again.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaBy far the best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. I will not go anywhere else!!!
The Dilraj – St. Annes-On-SeaVisited Anatolia on Friday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The whole experience was excellent. Mixed mezes to share and then the BBQ mix grill (which was huge). All the food was tasty, incredibly fresh and definitely moreish! Service was delightful and the bill refreshingly small. Lovely, crisp Turkish white wine but sadly not able to try pudding due to size of main course (will try on next visit). Can't wait to return for great food and excellent service.
Anatolia – St. Annes-On-SeaAs a vegetarian, one of the ways i judge a venues attitude to us Veggies is by the use of Parmesan in Vegetarian Dishes. Any establishment who has properly sourced their ingredients and has done an ounce of research knows that Parmesan is not suitable for Veggies. (it contains animal rennet - juices from the Stomach of Slaughter Calves) Therefore i was most disappointed when browsing the Cafe Grand menu, to discover Vegetarian items on the menu containing Parmesan. Makes you wonder how they source the ingredients for other Vegetarian Dishes too? Sorry The Grand, you've lost a customer!
