This was booked for my boyfriend’s birthday meal out as staying over in St. Annes. Overall it was fairly disappointing. The food was superb, second to none, each dish we had was lovely. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the non-existent atmosphere, it didn’t seem to have a personality and the staff, whilst efficient, we’re not overly friendly or didn’t know how to make customers feel welcome or build relationships. I imagine they’d have been at home in a Costa Coffee type role, but it didn’t work for us in a restaurant on a Saturday night! Plus the cheap back seats that had been plastered together with grey gaffer tape we’re not consistent with the rest of the decor. In addition, We ordered two cocktails to start the celebrations, and whilst my partner visited the facilities he notice that it was 2 for 1 cocktails on Saturday night. We mentioned this as the waitress bought ours over, and she just said ‘yes, it had to be two of the same’, so why didn’t she mention that out of courtesy when we ordered them…very odd!

Went for our 12th wedding anniversary on Saturday evening and had an excellent meal. The food is always good here but on Saturday it was really very good. The quality of ingredients and attention to detail really set this apart as a restaurant that really loves what they do and have a product they are rightly proud of. The service is attentive without being overbearing and there is a real buzz to the atmosphere. A special place run by special people.

Overall we enjoyed our meals last evening... the one gripe being the quality of the fish I ordered.... nowhere near as good as a local chippy... indeed I would say it was very bland and tasteless. Desserts we're superb and the service second to none with a special mention for Daniella.. who went out of her way to make us happy.

Enjoyable Sunday Lunch. Only faults, no mash and beef cut very thin.

Can echo Tony's review. We also had the bottomless brunch. Food and drink were excellent, the service was attentive, as soon as we finished a course or drink, staff were quick to replenish us. Portions were much bigger than expected! would definitely return.

Really enjoy the soup and olives & bread. Pasta didn’t have a lot of taste and my wife said her chicken was tasteless. In need of a better selection of vegetables as my wife doesn’t like broccoli ( and there was lots of that) . Lovely ice cream. Reasonably price . Would go again and choose a different main .

Couldn't find fault with this lovely wee restaurant. Great food. Pleasant atmosphere and surroundings. Helpful, caring staff. Comfortable seats. All round great!!!
