Antons Cafe/Bar...St Annes on Sea, Lancashire. A superb place to wine and dine - be it a full hearty meal or just a relaxing coffee. If you are in St Annes then i have to say you MUST visit "Antons" Cafe/Bar.. Superb friendly welcome relaxing atmosphere. Plus leather chairs to sit on beside the windows looking out onto the beautiful street in St Annes, music playing the background, friendly hosts and quick splendid service without the sky high prices...what more could anyone want. Definitely earns 10/10 from my point of view.

Simply the best - no frills or pretensions just good, honest, decent food cooked to order while you wait. Recommendation - a large cod, chips, curry sauce and yes, a scallop and bread and butter to top it all off. What more could anyone want ............

A couple of new dishes have been added that are well worth trying in particular the Rezatha which is the best Indian dish I have tasted

Had a great time at the Banthai last week, the food, service and staff are great, really enjoyed the set meal a great combination of flavours and tastes, and the wine was top notch as well. We will be back soon.

Fantastic experience. In town on business, and spotted the restaurant while walking in the town. Service was superb and the food quality was quite the best I've ever experienced. With the offer of a complimentary dish to go with my main, I left more than fulfilled, and will be returning for sure!

Having been to Jack's on Friday, although we ventured out late the service and food was still top notch and at a price no one could argue with. Keith's got a winner! cheers

The curry club night is really good value, portion sizes huge, staff very polite and helpful. Also you can’t go wrong with the beer and the burger deal, always leave as a very happy and full customer.

We were very well looked after at Jacks on Saturday even though there were 10 of us. The food was good and very reasonably priced.

This is now the only chippy in St Annes that we bother to patronise. Food quality is never disappointing, although the service isn't always as sharp as it could be. Nevertheless, it's friendly, and they readily accommodate special requests (e.g. a lighter coating of batter on the fish). The diner is licensed, although the choice of drinks is unexciting.

Avoid unless you enjoy the thrill of seeing the waiting staff navigate through a melée of unsupervised children. If they aren't bothering their parents, why should it bother you?

A rather better experience than the "seaside" exterior would suggest. Food was good (we had breakfast) as was the service. Pricing reasonable, menu offers plenty of choice without being ridiculous.

If you've been in a Caffe Nero anywhere in Britain, you'll already know - who would have thought we would willingly pay this much, and wait this long, for coffee? At least it's reliable, clean enough, and better than most of the alternatives.

Been waiting a long time to visit this bistro after many recommendations. Expected great food and got Superb food & nice ambience, also a great price for the set menu. Will certainly be going back and also recommending it to friends. Try it ! Some of the better restaurant food I've had in a long time.

Margheritas is a fantastic place to eat. the food is cooked to perfection and the staff are friendly. the chef is a genius....

Very average. Chips nice, fish far too oily! but i don't suppose they are trying to emulate Rick Stien though!

Great Indian Restaurant, Friendly and welcoming staff and a great selection of dishes. We never book but they will always fit you in even when busy and to be honest we enjoy waiting in the bar area where the craik is good but the Kingfisher is even better.

I cannot praise Jack's too highly - it is an excellent restaurant. Great food prepared by conscientious and enthusiastic chefs who, through a regularly changing menu, never cease in their efforts to provide customers with something fresh and exciting. It's small enough to feel intimate and is perfect for a romantic meal for two (or three, should that take your fancy!) but big enough to cope with groups or family bookings. There is always a good atmosphere, regardless of whether you're nipping in for the keenly priced early-diner, or making it more of an occasion and eating later on. When there's live music on, it is fantastic. No hassle, great food and a genuinely warm welcome from owner Keith Blackburn, who works bloody hard and fully deserves the plaudits bestowed on his business on this site. My job as a journalist has taken me to many of Fylde's restaurants and bistros over the years, some bad, some good (and very good) but Jack's is the best as far as I am concerned. These days, too many restaurants rest on their laurels and many others regularly serve up bland an overpriced dishes that bear too close a resemblance to what I would call pub-grub - (which is okay...but er, in a pub and at pub prices). Not at Jack's. It's not surprising that Keith can rely on customers to return time after time - they know they are guaranteed well-prepared and well-presented food, served in pleasant surroundings with a superb atmosphere, cracking wine list and friendly staff (special mention here for the excellent Martina, too). I don't throw praise around lightly and I'm not overly-keen on spending my hard-earned loot either, but in this case, I'm happy to do both. My only complaint was that the restaurant was not open on Sundays - but now he's even taken that gripe away from me as Jack's, I believe, now operates seven days a week... bugger. Regulars will probably not raise an eyebrow nor disagree with anything written here, but this is not for them. It's for those who have not yet been. Since the new management took over the quality of food has drastically improved. We live nearby and now visit regularly, the food is consistently excellent.
