T And T Derby

We had our second visit to this lovely little pub today when we took two friends. We had a superb meal and the atmosphere was great and the staff friendly. We arrived just before opening time but they welcomed us in and made us coffee. We and our friends will definitely be returning. T and T Derby

The Hollybush is my favourite local pub. We eat there near enough every week and have never had a bad meal. The specials board (excl Sunday) is great - all meals are under £5 and the quality and portion size is incredible. They also have the "main" menu with a great choice of meals made from predominantly local produce, there is also a lunch bar menu which has great choice too.

Beware of reviews prior to September 2010! Thwaites acquired this quintessentially English pub around 5 years ago and there followed a procession of totally unsuitable tenants and long periods when the pub was closed. All this changed with the arrival of Emma, Natalia and brothers Richard and Tim. Within the space of a couple of weeks the historic coaching in went from a pub on the brink of closure to one where you had to book a table if you wanted to dine at week-ends. I could wax lyrical about lovingly prepared, presented and wonderful tasting local produce - but you just need to look at the car park (it's invariably full!) if you want proof of the fact that these guys have got it spot on. If all rural pubs were this welcoming and served food of this standard, (I believe the brothers have worked previously in a number of Michelin starred restaurants) then there would be far fewer moans about the price of beer, smoking ban, drink driving laws etc. The Red Lion is is testament to the fact that a hard working, passionate and knowledgable team can still make a great success of working in the Staffordshire countryside.

We have just moved to Gnosall, and thought we would try some of the local pubs, the navigation inn provided us with excellent food with great value, with a friendly service. Nice to find good quality cask ales!! Would highly recommend mixed grill or the 20 oz Steak and ale pie!! Stunning! We've found our new local.

Been eating there fairly regularly for over 20 years. Always very ample, enjoyable, well cooked wholesome food. Never had cause to make a complaint. Been to most of the other 'eateries' within 15 miles over the years, but the 'Nav' is hard to beat!

this pub has been changed to a carvery and it is very poor the staff are slow and after being left standing for 25 mins before being served the girl seated me in a surly manner and we ordered drinks she returned with the wrong drinks and then asked us to go get our food at a glance the food was limp and over cooked the gravy had a thick skin it was awful no one behind the pass either i was very disappointed!! we wont be going back in a hurry!!

The Haberdashers is what good pubs used to be like. Great ale no nonsense hospitality and a real country feel to the place. The Haberdashers hasn't sold out to the corporate world of theme bars and destination food pubs, live music at weekends and a fabulous open fire all add to the magic of a traditional unspoilt proper pub.

Whilst travelling back from Wales to Norwich we found this 'gem' What a pleasant experience - wonderful food, a warmth from the friendly staff, clean, all round - a brilliant atmosphere in all respect. I WISH THEY WOULD OPEN A BRANCH IN NORWICH! whenever we get the opportunity we will visit - whats more its not too far from Derbyshire where we visit often.

Not recommended. Visited in a party of 8 on Friday 11th June 2010 at 6.35pm. What an absolute disaster 3 meats on the carvery but they had run out of beef, run out of pork and only had gammon which was far too salty to eat. 2 of us had carveries but could not eat them. Vegetables overcooked except for the cauliflower which was almost raw. It took 2 hours for us all to get food. never again

Fabulous food with a great garden area and walkway on to the island in the lake. Fish & chips come highly recommended.

Planned a meal with my parents on 3rd April 2010. The restaurant was full of the hunting set who had clearly been drinking all day. They were rude, obnoxious and repugnant individuals who made other diners feel most unwelcome. The food is good but never go when the farmers are in town. We won't be returning.

This is a wonderful place in the middle of some beautiful countryside. It is a perfect destination when the weather's good as it has an extensive beer garden. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the food, particularly the steak & ale pie and fish and chips (which my wife loved).

I booked a table for 6 people for a meal to dine at 8pm on Thursday 21st Jan 2010 and I must say how delighted we all were. We were greeted and made to feel welcome, there was no rush and we sat in the bar whilst we decided what we all wanted to eat from a menu which I am sure had something for any taste. We all enjoyed our meal and we are used to dining in the best restaurants. The service, presentation of the food, and quality and taste of the meals were 1st class. We will all be returning as we feel Bistro Le Coq is the best restaurant in the area and we had a wonderful evening What more can we ask for? nothing, thank you.
