Finally found a great place to eat on Christmas day, the fish starter was the best we have ever had, the meal was really good, as always, and the friendly service from John and his staff made the occasion really memorable.

is that what you call a restaurant with 1 waiter.been there twice not impressed.pass on that cafe.its not a restaurant

2for1 deal,,that proves what kind of restaurant is that,been there once and never will go back..2 waiters are over 70 years old and one lady waitress over 50 she cant even speak English,you can Imogene what kind of service they will provide..

We dined at th Hollybush on a Wednesday evening and every table was taken with people having meals which is testimony to how good the food is. The prices are reasonable and the portions are certainly adequate, everyone really enjoyed their meals, the meat is sourced locally and the homemade chips are to die for! Definitely the best pub grub in Stafford! But be warned you can't book in advance and its very popular

Visited the Bistro le Coq this week. Lovely place and good choice of drinks. Had starter for 2 which was very good. However, our main meals were very poor. My partner ordered the lamb and it was dry and hard. My steak was undercooked and had a very overbearing taste of charcoal. The salad in both cases was past its' best. The french fries were a frozen variety and over cooked to the point of being dry. I would have liked to discuss the problems with our waitress, but she had gone home. No one else seemed to be interested. Overall, a poor result from a restaurant that promises so much.

went to le coq last wed for lunch. the food was fantastic, best in the area, service brilliant. the only downside for my partner and i was the atmosphere. every one else was in their 60's or 70's, we couldn't believe it - where were all the young people, the 30&40 somethings?? whilst enjoying our food we had to listen to old people grumbling about their ailments and describing recent operations - quite off-putting. i would definitely go again, perhaps in an evening, but if i walk in and its full of elderly people i shall walk out again!! they need to encourage a mixed age range.

Food is good and you get value for money. Not a large place so nice cosy atmosphere. A group of us go every couple of months on our girly nights out.

Fabulous Freshly Cooked Food, Good Wine and Real Ales. Good Menu with a Specials Board that changes weekly. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Try Sunday Lunch or the Curry Night.

Hi, I was driving down to London to see my girlfriend but I decided to stop in Staffordshire en route to London to stay with my Uncle, He took me and my friend to a Thai Restaurant I had thai green chicken green curry and veg It was the one of the best I have ever tasted and the food there is better than my Thai Restaurant in Edinburgh where I am from Whenever I take a trip down to London to see my girlfriend I will pop into that Thai Restaurant, to try something else if one food taste fantastic I am sure the other food would too... 5 Star keep up the good work workers of the Thai Restaurant In Stafford, I don't know what the cost was as my Uncle paid for it so I put in Average

A lovely place to go for a meal, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is very good - with many local dishes. All in all a brilliant place to go.

I've been to the Greyhound several times, and always have a good meal. They can cook steaks exactly right, and their lemon brulee is wonderful! The only downside is it can get very warm and noisy, but overall I would give the Greyhound 8/10

We used to live in Stafford and have take aways from Nishads and then we started eating there. The whole experience was great. We have never found fault with this restaurant and can highly recommend it. We now live in Germany and try to get back to Stafford as much as possible so that we can eat at Nishads. Really unusual for a country pub. Reminded me a little of a nice modern London bar, especially in terms of ambiance and decor. They've stripped back the interior to old brick, stone and beams and it works very well. Lovely location, twee village etc. Food was great. Not lots on the menu but all seemed freshly prepared. Have been back a couple of times and it's been equally good.

I always enjoy dining at this place, but it is not recommended when the kids are on holiday from school. The parents allow them to run all over the place and you do not enjoy your lunch in peace.

Although I'm good at cooking Thai food but I went there for more than three time since I'm in Stafford. The authentic taste of Thai food by Thai chef is a key. Compare with other Thai restaurant such as Thai Edge (Cardiff) Mangosteen (London) or Blue Elephant (London), the service and atmosphere is just acceptable but if you want just to sit down and eat food, this one is recommended. Deep-fried seabass with sweet chilli sauce and Thai seafood salad are fantastic. I know English people don't eat squid but thick and soft meaty squid with garlic and pepper sauce makes me want to go there tomorrow. (^ ^)
