Food delish service fantastic everything was perfect

Excellent meal, all courses a very high standard, very attentive staff. Highly recommend!

What a fabulous time I had at the Golden Lion Hotel on Wednesday 23 August 2923 celebrating by 60th birthday. A big thank you to Ash on reception for organising the booking and making sure that the gluten free guests and my self were catered for.

When my wife and I are in Stirling we usually try to dine at the Golden Lion. We have stayed there also a few times in the past and the breakfast was superb. We were at the Castle, so booked in for dinner. The staff were very friendly and seated us even though we were a little early. The first course came very quickly and was very tasty. The vegetables were a little undercooked and so a little hard even for my knife to go through. We asked for a sweet menu, got it and then waited an age to be asked what we were having. The girl came with the sweets and we had to ask for cutlery. We had tea next and had to ask for milk. The servers looked very young and basically seemed to be learning on the job. It might have been our bad luck that this was their first night working, but it was a Saturday and maybe training should happen when they are not so busy.

My friend and enjoyed our meal, food was good, but we weren’t impressed with the service, we had too ask for our plates to be taken away, they forgot to bring sauce we requested, we waited quite some time for the main course, and watched two tables being served even though they came in after us,

Food was amazing. I had the Balmoral chicken. Fantastic flavours, perfect portion size, excellent service as well as value for money (which is so important these days). Highly recommend. Praise to the manageress in charge of service. The team were exceptional.

Food was excellent Service was excellent staff are all lovely Used the car park - back of your building is a real off put - Your disabled access is also terrible - not working sit on stair lift - not sure we will be back because of this - which is a shame

One of my new favourite places to eat. The High Tea is value for money. Steak pie is cooked to perfection and tastes so good! Scones and cakes are delicious. Staff are also great and cater to every need. Would highly recommend!

Great food and service.

We were very happy with food and service for dinner. Breakfast was average.

Lovely food and very pleasant staff. Only issue was place was so hot. We asked for air conditioning to be out up but told next table too cold. We ended up asking for food to be out in takeaway container and left early as so uncomfortable

Delicious food, friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. Will definitely be back.

Service and hospitality was amazing. Starter was brilliant, haggis bon bons truly wonderful. The Mac and cheese with pancetta on the other hand was very poor. Pancetta wasn't crispy, very chewy and fatty. Overall good.

This is such a great hotel. Very clean and extremely, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meal was excellent. Will definitely recommend and will be back. Bedroom was very clean and well appointed, ideal for a wee night away.

Recently had lunch with family and family visiting from Canada. There were 10 of us. The lunch was lovely, the service was great and we had a lot of laughs. Thanks so much for making it a good day out.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Great variety. Lovely attentive staff. Only thing I would say was the room itself was a tad cold. Great place to meet friends and will definitely be back
