Delicious food, friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. Will definitely be back.

Service and hospitality was amazing. Starter was brilliant, haggis bon bons truly wonderful. The Mac and cheese with pancetta on the other hand was very poor. Pancetta wasn't crispy, very chewy and fatty. Overall good.

This is such a great hotel. Very clean and extremely, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meal was excellent. Will definitely recommend and will be back. Bedroom was very clean and well appointed, ideal for a wee night away.

Recently had lunch with family and family visiting from Canada. There were 10 of us. The lunch was lovely, the service was great and we had a lot of laughs. Thanks so much for making it a good day out.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday . Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Great variety. Lovely attentive staff. Only thing I would say was the room itself was a tad cold. Great place to meet friends and will definitely be back

Great location Friendly and helpful staff For dinner I had the seaboard which I felt was a underwhelming and being the most expensive dish on the menu (excluding steak) I expected more food and the batter that coated the haddock was soggy. The other guys that I was traveling with had steak pie and chicken which they enjoyed. Breakfast was bang on! Room was basic but clean and did the job! Considering the location and what is included for the price this place is excellent value for money and would definitely use again.

We had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant, and can honestly say we had a lovely evening, the restaurant in beautiful, the food was fantastic, cooked to order and tasted amazing, the staff where lovely.

I ate here for 2 nights and the food was lovely. I tried the Balmoral Chicken and the Steak pie both of which were served with herb mash and seasonal vegetables, they we're both delicious and the pie had lots of tender beef, I would definitely recommend eating here

This was my third visit to the Golden Lion and each time it did not disappoint. Delicious food, reasonably priced and excellent service. Good old fashioned service! The restaurant itself is lovely, private and intimate. Would definitely recommend.

Had a fabulous meal for our friend's birthday. Food was tasty and good and hot, the service was excellent and all over it was really good value for money. Would not hesitate to recommend this place and we will be back

Lovely staff, good meal in the restaurant. Room could do with a refresh and minor irritations included no information in room (e.g. menu, wifi code, breakfast times etc.)

Hubby & I had a three course lunch in this lovely restaurant. Hubby stuck to the traditional soup, steak pie & toffee pudding, hich he loved & I had the chilli prawns with the most delicious dressing I've ever tasted( would love the recipe) then the special of steamed trout with mash done with a creamy leek sauce. Once again I didnt want the meal to end it was WOW! finished off with a sticky toffee. Needless to say, clean plates all round. Chef & staff such a credit to the Golden Lion, we will def make this a more regular meal out. Thankyou xx
