The food was fantastic and the location is outstanding. We met our overseas friends there for dinner and they loved it too. Very Scottish feel and look with lots of history.

Every time we visit Stirling we have a meal in this hotel, highly recommend, food, service, staff and atmosphere all first class.

Convenient town centre location and comfortable restaurant area. Friendly and attentive service. Party of 3 all enjoyed their meal which was good value and nicely presented. Option of 1, 2 or 3 courses. Will be happy to return for lunch or evening menu.

Excellent meal - could not fault any aspect of this meal in terms of quality and quantity it was delicious. Only "fault" was the house was in insistent we ordered all courses at the same time and paid in advance ("we want to cash up the Restaurant Till") which gave us a feeling of being rushed (it was only 07.30 and 2 other people dining), otherwise all good.

Had an delicious ham salad here with friends on Sunday afternoon. Ham salad was not on the menu we wanted but we asked the waitress if it was possible to have this and she went and checked and came back and said we could. So 5 ham salads ordered and very much enjoyed. The staff were excellent and we were particularly impressed with the lovely smiling German waitress. She was such a lovely person and couldn’t do enough to help us. The rest of staff were very good too I must add. Looking forward to our next lunch date. Thank you all and complements to the chef(s).

We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast package and the fixed menu had lots of choice and the quality of food and service was very good. Would definitely recommend Cronies restaurant.

Had lunch with friends on Saturday 5 th November beautiful meal friendly staff and lovely surroundings would definitely recommend.

High tea was great value for money . Steak pie was delicious . Service was friendly and fantastic. I would recommend that this is the best place to eat in Stirling .x

Such a lovely, welcoming venue. Dinner with my son was delicious. He had the steak pie I had the tortellini we were both very happy with our choices and even happier when the delicious dessert - strawberry, meringue cheesecake arrived! The staff were excellent friendly yet discreet- ideal. Would highly recommend this restaurant and definitely return next time in Stirling.

Afternoon Tea The venue is very beautiful but I don’t feel I could recommend afternoon tea. We ordered it for 4 people, £58. Three tier arrived with one plate of sandwiches, which contained cheese, cheese and pickle, ham and tuna. We asked for them without butter, and the cheese ones arrived with butter. The scones were very good, but way too many smaller cakes compared to sandwiches. Service was poor, none came to check the food was okay or take another drinks order. Overall nice venue, and the meals around us looked nice, but was a bit disappointed celebrating a 70th with the afternoon tea.

Had booked afternoon tea for myself and two friends and was very disappointed. The 3 tier stand arrived with a sandwich each that was cut into 4 triangles, a selection of mini cakes then a scone each on top! Their was a vegetarian option and her sandwiches consisted of two triangles with cheese and pickle on them and two with only lettuce and tomato on them! Was really very poor considering this cost us just under £16 per person! Definitely not value for money and nothing I would recommend!

Had a lovely meal at the Golden Lion. Great decor, great service and a really inventive meal that was absolutely delicious. Haddock wrapped in salmon. Can wholly recommend this place in Stirling.

Food was lovely, very clean and nice and friendly place. Service was excellent and the staff were so helpful especially Kelsey. Certainly be back soon.

Food served on hot plates so it’s nice and hot. Food was delicious everyone was happy. Staff attentive and friendly. Lovely surroundings.

Menu choices were good, and was great to see a separate vegan menu. However service was poor. Watched our drinks sitting on the bar for 10 minutes, in the end I went and collected them myself. Ordered beer battered fish and chips, fish was very greasy and only a handful of chips. Also ordered the vegan risotto and the risotto rice was still hard at bits. Followed with a cheese board, which came with small section of sliced apple, branston pickle and the worst standard cheese selection, wasn’t worth £9. Overall not great and won’t be back.

My husband & I enjoyed a beautiful high tea meal recently. The food was of a high standard, piping hot & well presented. The staff were all lovely & friendly. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated to a high standard. Great music playing!! It was well priced for what you got. We look forward to returning when back in the area.

The food was very good and beautifully presented, the dining room is quite relaxing, clean, beautifully laid out. The staff were friendly and very attentive, overall had a wonderful meal and very reasonably priced as well. Will be back the next time visiting Scotland.
