Disappointing experience. Interior was lovely, staff were nice, but the food was not good. Had the pork enchiladas, the BBQ taste was so rich, strong and tangy, they were horrible, ended up trying to scrape the sauce out. Pricey meal, small portion, and did not enjoy the food.

I hadn't been to Panama Hattys for about 12 years so decided to pay a visit. Usual lovely interior and attentive staff but 3 pieces of chicken on my kebab and burnt sweet potato fries at the bottom of the bowl. No one asked how the meal was just if we had finished. This place used to be superb but should yiu feel hungry when you get home after a meal out?

We attended on the hottest day of the year. We couldn't book until 9pm due to other stuff at home and the restaurant did initially call us to attend earlier, but were still really accommodating. We were in the air conditioned section which was lovely and had 3 courses each. All of the food was lovely. The staff were attentive and friendly. We would definitely come back again.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Alvanley Arms yesterday. The roast turkey was delicious, my sister had the scampi. The dessert was equally delicious, i had the lemon tart and my sister had the profiteroles. On the downside, when emailing my booking, i mentioned that my sister uses a wheelchair. The lady informed me that the system dose not recognise this, which is strange. As it happens, Anne can get out of the chair(she is able to walk short distances), and was able to use the steps(anyone wheelchair bound would not be able to do this. It was suggested that i could book by phone in future. On the service side, we were served promptly, however, when it came to ordering dessert, the lady who took our plates, did not ask if we wanted dessert of coffee, and despite looking at us several times, did not come to ask if we wanted to order dessert, and i had to go to the counter to order. This aside, it was a lovely meal and a lovely atmosphere.

Food was absolutely scrumptious really enjoyed our meal - 1st visit will be back!

It was my first visit for some time so I was interested to see how it had changed . The restaurant is welcoming and the service was very good. The food was a rather mixed bag. The fish and chips were good, but both pies were portions from a much larger pie and had been rewarmed a little too much, creating a hard topping: The Cheese, onion and potato pie was advertised as deep dish and I expected it to be a separate pie in a dish, which it always used to be, but this was not to be . The spotted dick was advertised as having custard as you would expect, but came with ice cream All in all they need to smarten up a little with the food offerings and menu descriptions

A lovely pub, very busy…glad we booked! Huge roast, with plenty of vegetable. Wider menu looked good too!

This was our 3rd visit to Panama Hatty’s and just like the previous times the meal, service, friendly efficient staff etc was first class.

I had a very nice prawn pil-pil starter and chicken fajitas as my main, however I would've ordered the burritos if I had known I'd have to assemble them myself (I'm autistic and this was too overwhelming, but I managed).

We all had a really excellent night I would highly recommend it .

We’ve always really enjoyed visiting this pub and have been many times over the years, which is why it’s disappointing to say that our last two visits haven’t lived up to the usual standard. The atmosphere and service are still lovely, but the food quality and portion sizes seem to have gone downhill. On our most recent visit, the fish pie was particularly disappointing — the dish itself was very shallow and there was hardly any filling in it. We completely understand prices and costs have changed for businesses, but sadly the meals no longer feel as generous or as good value as they once did. We do hope this was just a temporary dip, as it’s somewhere we’ve always genuinely enjoyed visiting.
