My son and I had a lovely meal here yesterday, we were seated right in the middle and the fire made it feel very cosy. Food was lovely, service was good, we will definitely be back.

Second time we have been here. Attended for our daughters birthday. Great quality home cooked food. Lovely place. We came back because of the food and service last time. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service, this time which was really slow and staff seemed a bit abrupt when bringing food to us. Only seemed to be three members of staff to serve food/drinks, and it was really busy. We will go back, but hopefully, next time, we will meet with a warmer welcome.

Great atmosphere. We were staying in a hotel a couple of miles down the road and didn’t fancy eating there. Found the pub on google maps, checked the menu and booked online. Food was great, especially the puds. My wife had the Eaton mess which was huge, and I had the Belgian waffle. Both were superb.

We've had recommendations to go and finally made it, where we weren’t disappointed! Friendly staff and great food-menu is varied but hit the spot! Will happily recommend and we will return!

I had lunch at the Alvanley Arms Tarporley with friends, and the pub is lovely, with a nice big car park, the food was delicious and hot, which is fantastic as most pubs only seem to serve warm food these days. The only negative is it was understaffed, the pub was reasonably full, but unfortunately. But there seemed to be only one person serving the whole pub, therefore the waiting times were a little longer than we hoped, also when you did ask her for something, sometimes it would be forgotten because she was so busy, she also seemed a little stressed obviously with her being rushed off her feet, and therefore we didn't receive the happy smiley service you would expect.

The food was delicious and can’t fault that. But it was a Saturday night there was 7 of us and it wasn’t busy but we felt that the staff wanted to rush us. They kept asking were we ready to start and we were still waiting for 2 people to arrive and we weren’t booked in for another half a hour. Also through the night constantly hovering around etc and we all felt that they wanted to finish up and leave. If it had been busy and they needed the table I would have understood but I feel they wanted a early finish.

Food absolutely spot on and the service is first class. Nothing is too much trouble.

We visited for Sunday lunch - was excellent, as always. It’s great food and great value and def recommend. We visited again a few hours later - for coffee and pudding. It’s not the first time we’ve done this - too full after the lunch, but a trip to take our son back to university, unpack etc and drive back, means we then have the space to enjoy pudding while trying to stay awake on the comfy sofas. We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic Sunday meal better than any other Sunday meal I’ve had . Starters we had avocado and prawns on a bed of lettuce. Main course 3 meat turkey/ beef/ and pork with all the trimmings fantastic to full for a pudding but definitely next time thank you Phil& ann

Me and my Wife have been coming here for about 7 or 8 years. Love it every time, great food and staff, no rushing us and great atmosphere. Just a lovely relaxing place to go to. Never had a bad meal here. Would highly recommend visiting.

Fantastic as always. Five star restaurant, the food and drink selection is amazing. Service brilliant always. If you haven’t been, please try it, you’ll definitely be back again and again
