I went to the great fortune house after looking at the customer reviews, The food was nice however the atmosphere was awful. The building is a total mess and basically needs a total refurbish, the chairs where ripped and the lights where flickering. Not that impressed.

I went here for dinner last night & as always had a gorgeous meal the food was just perfect. For my starter I had the venison and pistachio terrine which was served cold on a bed of sweet red cabbage, alongside toasted brioche, Superb. For my main course I had the Beef Gallet with creamed potato, carrot & swede puree & baby leeks. & for dessert I had the warm chocolate & nut brownie served with vanilla ice cream. I recently ate at Gordon Ramsays in London & have to say the meal I had last night at twelve was better. I just cant fault this restaurant everything is always excellent everytime i go. Thank You I will be returning in the near future

We were staying in the Norbreck Castle and needed something different to their offerings. We found it round the corner here. Good choice of menu, though we all opted for the reasonable meal deals. excellent tasting fish, grease free chips, and a belting cup of tea. Staff were really good. What more can I say? It was just what was required. Thank you very much.

I cannot praise New Norbreck Fish & Chips enough. We go to eat in regularly. The price is so reasonable. Great for a poor student like myself! The staff are great. So friendly and always remember us and take time out to talk to us. The food is just delicious. I am not a fan of fish myself but my feller assures me it is the best he's tasted locally. As for me there a wide selection of other food on offer ranging from sausages and pies to chicken. Add to that the fantastic selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on offer and I just can't think of anywhere else I'd rather eat. Well done, and thank you for an excellent eating experience.

My fiance and I visited Twelve about a month ago for our anniversary. We were hoping for a special and memorable night despite the expensive menu. With Twelve being one of the most prestigious restaurants on the fylde coast, we were expecting perfection and , unfortunately it did not live up to those expectations. Our table was booked for 8:30pm and we arrived 15 minutes early, only to be brushed to one side to make way for a large, rowdy party. Because a member of their group was missing, their seating time was delayed, thus delaying ours. We waited patiently for just short of two hours before we were eventually seated. Unwilling to spoil the occasion, we kept our frustration to ourselves. I ordered the fois gras to start and was disappointed with it. My fiance played it safe with the soup, which was a better decision than mine, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our main course arrived at just after 11pm which, by any account, is far too late to be eating dinner and consequently left me feeling nauseous. During this time we had ordered another drink along with our food. This did not arrive until our main course, after several prompts to various waiters. The bill came to £75 and considering we weren't blown away that is a steep price to pay. We left the restaurant feeling dissatisfied to say the least and will certainly not be returning anytime soon.

Well worth a visit best Fish i have ever had good sized portion and not expensive in fact fish chips and peas were cheaper than my local chippy in Manchester, the staff are very friendly and the service is good. If you like good fish then try it out

I would never recommend this restaurant, after eating on Saturday 3rd April,. It would take to long to explain, but the service, food and attitude was disgusting. I would be very happy to give a full history of our awful experience.

For many years we have gone to Thornton years ,usually as a group of between 4-10 people and for many years we have been served excellent value for money meals. However, Thornton lodge is now a "fayre and square" restaurant and what a disaster! We went as a group of 6 on 22nd march 2010 approx 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. the restaurant was almost empty yet we still had to wait approx 1 hour for our food. A requested well done steak was almost rare, fish and chips was purely batter and chips and scampi and chips, well I’m not quite sure what that was! We complained to the waitress and were offered 1 x complimentary dessert, however we all decided to have a dessert anyway. After putting our order in we waited 40 minutes, the only hot dessert ordered (apple pie and custard) came first but with no spoon but we decided we ask for one when the next desserts were brought to the table not realising we would have to wait another 10 minutes by which time the apple pie was cold! Viennetta ice cream was ordered, this had literally just been put from box to plate as it was still on the plastic packaging!!....never never again will we go there after 7 years of family visits. The meal was appalling, the service diabolical.. Bring back the old Thornton lodge along with the original chef and staff!

Ive been twice to great fortune house for a buffet meal and both times it has been excellent. there is plenty of delicious food and you can eat as much as you like. I t is a bargain for the price. We usually spend just under 30 pound and we leave stuffed and a bit tipsy! what more can you ask for. would definitely recommend it!

Just got back in from a fantastic evening at Twelve. The staff are amazingly helpful and the food is just to die for. The whole place was buzzing with people and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be going back again very soon. If your considering a meal then this is the only place to book!

I think this is probably the best Italian restaurant on the fylde coast at the moment. The ambience is spot on with mood lighting and chilled tunes and the food that cut above the competition.

If you are looking to enjoy Pulcinella's Tapas menu you should phone and make sure they have the food/dishes available to host such an event before you plan your evening at this venue. My husband and I were really looking forward to going to Pulcinellas to sample their tapas menu which, according to their website, commenced in January 2010 until February 2010. When we arrived we were offered no such menu. When we finally managed to catch someones eye to ask about the offer we were told that due to the bad weather the food had not arrived, then we were told it wouldn't be available on a Friday or Saturday night anyway. Nowhere on the website did it exclude these days. When another manager came over to see us we were then told the dishes for the tapas had not arrived. We were offered some sort of an apology but as we had such a long wait for our food to arrive it was of no consolation to us. The restaurant itself was very busy so we understand it can take some time for fresh food to be prepared but we felt we received no service and it seemed as we were not regular customers then our complaint was not taken seriously. Very disappointed and will not be making another visit.

Seven of us went for Christmas Day. Fantastic meal. We all had Shai Tokra starter which was devine, followed by an array of different curries and side dishes including a Chicken Tikka Phall. Copious amounts of Kingfisher & Cobra, all at £153.00. Outstanding food, good value, recommended. Will be back in the New Year. Thanks to all the Staff for a Christmas with a difference !!!

We eat out about 3 times a week all over the Fylde coast area. I am a Veggi so I prefer to go to a restaurants which have at least 2 choices of cooked food. My favourite Restaurant for variety, value and beautiful sea views is the Royal Venue. I've eaten in everything that Lancashire has to offer. Consistency is key for a regular diner and the Royal Venue offers this. If you are on a budget or out to celebrate this restaurant delivers a great dining experience. They are really switched on to those with special diets too. Last nights menu boasted 7 options of vegetarian food. Nothing in Lancashire compares! Maybe that's why it was nearly full at 7pm. I think this is an award worthy restaurant.

I went here for tea last night and i have to say after eating in the other 2 seniors restaurants and having nice meals in the past i was very disappointed, the chips were hard and mostly burnt and the service wasn't the best. if i was going to go for fish and chips again this would not be my 1st port of call.
