The Dickens had a reputation as a "rowdy"pub so it was was with some trepidation that my family visited the Dickens for Mothers day. What a transformation!! The bar staff were smart, pleasant and attentive, even though it was very busy, nothing was too much trouble and a table was soon found and prepared for us. The thing we noticed above all was how clean the place was even though it could do with a facelift. The waitresses were very efficient and eager to please, giving our little ones an activity pack each and some crayons straight away. We ordered our food from the large and varied menu and were amazed when it arrived very quickly, all piping hot and looking superb. I cant remember the last time we had a pub meal that was so good - excellent value for money. Those little extras like fresh croutons in the soup and lemon and parsley with the fish do make a difference! The children were happy too, after finishing their meals they were presented with a bag of chocolate coins each! treasure from the shipwreck on cleveleys beach they were told!. The Dickens also has a petanque (french boules) court, the first I've seen on the Fylde Coast and we were able to borrow some boules from behind the bar and play a couple of games before we left. All in all a fabulous afternoon - we will definitely be returning. If I had to find a fault it would be the toilets but we were told they have had a serious leak under the floors and that it was in the process of being fixed so I wouldn't let that put you off.

Me my mum and sister went to Pulcinellas on 26.02.08, we had a lovely meal, nice wine and the service was great, we will be going back very soon, the set menu was fantastic value for money with 3 courses for £15.00. (although i didn't choose the set menu my mum and sister did) I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Was recommended this restaurant by our driver from Manchester Airport Bill he said it was the best and well it was something not in the norm of local restaurant's have eaten at most of the Italian restaurants in the Fylde but like Bill said to us en route the ambience of the Pulcinella is something superior to other establishments. The staff are helpful and immaculate polite and professional they will stop and have a chat with you during your meal. The food is superb a slight criticism is a larger veg choice is needed but that tiny problem is trivial the food is exquisete. We tried both the house red and white both very nice.Overall a fine dinning experience.Thank you Bill for telling us about it your reports say it all and many thanks to the staff at the Pulcinella for a wonderful evening even when busy no corners were cut.10 out of 10

Why have you not published my comments I sent you about the service etc. at Pulcinellas? It was appaling, the food was cold and the cutlery dirty. Not all is sweetness and light it would appear!

Many thanks to Alex Robbie Rialdo and all the staff for a wonderful Christmas Eve.It was packed BUT the service we got was if we were the only people in. Still no Budweiser booooooooooooo but the food drink and service more than made up for that sin

Sadly, I cannot recommend this venue. The cutlery was filthy, the food cold and a less than satisfactory service.

Taste has a very appealing menu, the portions are substantial and great value for money, and there presentation is very good, from simple soups to tasty salad combinations, and baked potato dishes with a twist, and they change there menu frequently. The set menu's are a real bargain too. The only down side is some of the staff, they can be surly, and sometimes bordering on rude, but this hasn't put me off going, it would just make it a more pleasant experience if they changed there attitude. 8 out of 10 for food 3 out of 10 for service

We dined at Twelve last night for the first time. There were 6 of us, and we had mixed feelings about it. All the starters, the Red Deer, and the Beef were thoroughly enjoyed. The Partridge was not great - at most there were 3 mouthfuls of meat on the plate, with the legs having literally no meat on them whatsoever. Less to do with it being a small bird and more to do with it not being a great cut of meat, although to be fair the meat that was there was delicious. The veg was undercooked rather then al dente. The chips were nice, and all the puddings were nice. I really enjoyed the chocolate brownie. The service was not great. We asked for a jug of water three times and it never appeared. We were tucked away in a far corner of the balcony and forgotten about. When I complained about my main course the waiter was not interested, did not apologise, and charged me the full £22 for it. On a positive note, they were very accommodating when we asked for slight changes, for example to the mash, mixing the a la carte menu with the Christmas menu etc. The bill came to a hefty £100 per couple (admittedly with wine) and I was starving hungry when we left. Given the tremendous reputation Twelve has, I have to say I was rather disappointed.
