My family always love eating here. Food and service are absolutely superb - we have a number of dietry restrictions on the family and they're always able to adapt dishes or recommend alternatives. Hands down one of, if not the, best restaurant in the area.

We had a wonderful evening with wonderful food. Every course and every meal was first class. We thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent supper: Two courses of delicious, well balanced food. Beautifully presented grilled goats cheese with an imaginative, warm, salad, followed by a main of superb scallops. Accompanied by two glasses of different, but perfectly complementary white wine, which were helpfully suggested by the front of house. Only criticism : the restaurant could have been a little warmer, but it was a day of sudden cold ! Certainly intend to return.

Another delicious lunchtime meal with a friend. The fish (cod with pumpkin tagliatelle and samphire ) was superb and beautifully presented, followed by a light blackcurrant souffle dessert. A wonderful restaurant. Thank you.

We have been going to Goodfellows regularly for some years - though not as often as we would like because we live about an hour’s drive away. The cooking has consistently been superb; regardless of whether you’re sitting down for a set lunch or a five course tasting menu. The food at Goodfellows is always inventive without being fussy and incredibly well-balanced. Add to this delightful service, a carefully chosen wine-list curated by a world-class sommelier & a very reasonable final bill and you have one of the West Country’s finest restaurants.

Third visit to the restaurant this year and each time as good as the last. Took 2 guests to the restaurant this time and they were amazed at the quality of food delivered from the kitchen. The standard is high and hopefully will remain so.

We had an exceptional meal at Goodfellows. Every mouthful was carefully conceived and beautifully executed. All five courses complemented each other extremely well and all five plates were licked clean!

One of my favourite restaurants. Consistently high standard of food and service. Good, fresh fish cooked with flair and imagination - not overcomplicated but always with something extra to add interest.

Visited for the first time on Saturday evening after reading good reports in Somerset Life. Excellent food, very well looked after by the team and tremendous value for money. Despite the journey, we would not hesitate to visit again.

We were a group of 4 who all chose the Fish of the Day menu - 2 courses plus house wine, so total bill was less than £100, very good value. Wonderful food, friendly and efficient service, unpretentious and relaxed surroundings. We were in upstairs room, so didnt have the open kitchen experience. Will be back.

My best friend and I treated ourselves to the Goodfellows’ three course lunchtime menu during a recent holiday visit to Wells. My impression of the ‘front of house’ lady we encountered upon arrival was that her greeting had a definite touch of froideur about it. However, the man who served us at table was warm, welcoming and professional. Space is at a premium in the restaurant and I therefore feel that the open plan kitchen (which is situated within the inner dining area) would benefit from the addition of an improved air extraction system, especially as Goodfellows is, for the main part, a fish restaurant. That said, the food was simply superb. Cooked with imagination, skill and flair by a chef who clearly puts his heart and soul onto each plate. Each course was a delight. We shall definitely plan a return trip to Goodfellows when next in the area.

Very nice lunch and extremely good value. Good service as well. Just had a simple one course lunch but very happy with flavours and quality. Will be back!
