I would highly recommend this fish restaurant, the staff are polite and attentive the food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic nighy out.

We were staying in Wells and this was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and what a real treasure this restaurant is. The food was truly wonderful, the ambiance was just right and we enjoyed our time throughly. My wife and I had the lemon sole, which was first class, and our son had the had the pork tenderloin which melted in his mouth. We can not recommend this highly enough. Well worth a visit.

Visiting Wells from London this restaurant was recommended and rightly so - all three of us were really impressed. Proper cuisine - and generous portions, in a simple classy surroundings in the centre of town.

Our evening at Goodfellows was a real pleasure in a relaxed atmosphere with delicious interesting flavoured food and attentive service. Always consistent.

Our meal last night was very enjoyable, as always at Goodfellows. The starter of prosciutto and salad was accompanied by a very flavourful dressing, and the lemon sole was soft and succulent with a very good sauce. We were well satisfied with the two courses, so were unable to sample anything from the dessert menu. The only criticism I would make is I would like to see a wider choice of wines by the glass. Service was, as always, very friendly and attentive.

Delicious supper for four on a warm Summer's evening: gazpacho for all, various good fishy mains, assorted indulgent puddings . Plus prosecco, good French dry white, endless supplies of water in smart blue btls . Service both efficient & pleasant. Busy restaurant but comfortable atmosphere. Recommended.

Absolutely fantastic, we loved every aspect of our lunch, the bass and sole dishes were superb. Would encourage anyone to eat here. Thank you.

Had dinner here last evening for my wife's birthday... despite being busy with people celebrating Bastille Day they were kind and considerate and we got a nice somewhat private and quiet table upstairs in a corner by ourselves. We've eaten here before and the food is always of excellent quality and very delicious!

We booked for a party of 6 on a Wednesday evening, before actually coming to Wells. When we saw the restaurant we were alarmed that we had made a wrong decision. There was no dinner menu in the window and the lunch menus and general ambience suggested a lunch time café/bistro, rather than the good restaurant we had anticipated. How wrong we were. We received a friendly welcome and were given menus which clearly focused on good food, rather than too many choices. We all chose the set 5 course "taster" menu at £48. The best choice we made all week. Stunningly good and innovative food. The soy jelly was a real favourite with the cooks in our party. Each course was a delight and the portions were exactly right - enough to be enjoyed, not enough to ruin appetites for the following courses. A "must revisit" when we are next in Wells. Question, is the appearance of the restaurant designed to scare of casual "window shoppers"? We would certainly not have booked but for the on-line reviews.

brilliant pub by the river, fantastic food, excellent music, loads of real ales proper ciders and Belgium beers, they have really interesting decor, and a charcoal oven from Barcelona that’s truly awesome

We have been going to Goodfellows since Adam opened and having eaten there so often over the years I can honestly say all the food I have eaten there has been outstanding. I even took my very fussy Mum in Law for Dinner and she raved!! Amazing because she never raves about anything! Our repeated visits say alot because my husband usually refuses to go back to a restaurant more than twice! Well done and we are trying out the Goodfellows in Shepton this weekend - all my little boys are very excited because they also get delicious food to eat and not just the usual children fayre of frozen food beans and chips... You get our vote Goodfellows!
