After a lovely meal there a couple of weeks ago we took our son on Monday evening. So disappointing . I had raved about the pie of the day but they had none at 6 in the evening. Likewise no fish and chips. We ordered the Brie sharing starter which came cold and solid. Our mains came in various stages. We asked for condiments and the salt pot was delivered smeared in tomato sauce. It’s such a shame that this lively little bar restaurant is so inconsistent. On our previous visit Sam was the manager and he was brilliant, tentative and entertaining and made sure service was good. The staff are young and perhaps some are more experienced than others but no excuse for food not being available at 6 in the evening. Come on Snug and Chatter - you can do so much better! My ratings are best on this visit.

Great place - food is amazing and such a great atmosphere. We came here for Sunday lunch with friends, the staff are so friendly and attentive. The best Sunday dinner we have eaten out in a long time.

Having lived in Wetherby previously I knew The Snug and Chatter was a lovely place to meet and eat. The staff were extremely tentative, polite and deserve all the praise which comes their way. They were/are very professional and friendly. The food was first class as was the dining experience and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend The Snug & Chatter and when back in Wetherby we will dine there again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

I had a table booked for dinner at 7pm but I was very disappointed to be squeezed into a corner under a loud speaker surrounded but very loud people, and to be told they had run out of pizzas. It’s probably a great place for a drink but not a meal out with friends you want a conversation with .

Amazing food and very well priced ,has a lovely atmosphere .Sam is fantastic nothing is too much for him and he’s delightful at his job

We had Sunday lunch for 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children at 12.15. The atmosphere was lovely, very warm. The layout of the table wasn’t ideal and even with 2 young children the table was too small - one person ended up sitting on the end right by the door so kept their coat on and one person had to balance their plate where the tables joined together with a very uneven surface. When we asked for help the staff just said none of the tables really seat 6 so we just had to manage. Staff were very nice and friendly but incredibly slow service, we had to ask and chase for everything as & when we managed to catch their attention. Food was average at best. The Sunday roast was pretty shocking! Beef delicious and rare but the vegetables were shrivelled & had clearly been sat for ages, the roast potatoes weren’t roast and the Yorkshire puddings were so burnt (they were black!) none of us could eat them. There’s no way they should have been served and in hindsight we should have sent them back. The children’s burger was a generous portion but again it was burnt so we ended up having to scrape & cut the burnt bits off. The children’s pizza was tiny compared to size of children’s burger but a good pizza. Unfortunately we didn’t stay for dessert because the food was so poor and service so slow. Based on the great reviews (which is why we booked) I wonder if we were just unlucky and the chef was off so they had a temp in and the staff were a team member down.

Amazing experience and fast becoming my favourite place to go! Visited again after a great first visit and this time took my Frenchie Frankie. The service is absolutely impeccable and even better that they are so accommodating with dogs. The food is also amazing too!

A lovely evening meal. Gammon excellent with very tasty accoutrements and a good price. Ribeye very tasty - a bit pricey. Staff all very friendly.

Food was lovely, and cooked perfectly. Really accommodating aswell as we had a dog with us for an early dinner! Overall must try!

Early doors supper (6:15) although the restaurant was busy we were shown to our reserved table. Service was swift and efficient. The food was was very good and enjoyable. and felt it was value for money. Will definitely revisit and recommend - but with proviso that you need to pre-book as the restaurant is small.

Snug and chatter Abject disappointment at Thursday night’s poor offering. I Booked a week in advance noting it was an event for three birthdays. We arrived on time (one member was late but we told the waitress we’d order anyway). We waited so long to order we had to abandon the idea of having starters. 2 hours plus after arrival we got some food. The elders and children in our group were beside themselves with hunger. Our order of linguine for two people had to be cancelled as there was none left, second choice of chicken skewers was a no go as none left. One member’s steak was a dried out ‘medium’. When it came to dessert ordering, everything had sold out apart from 3 apples pies or ice cream. We had the 3 apple pies and ordered 3 ice creams - only 2 ice creams appeared (my brother had said to a waitress to leave the ice cream off the apple pies). I understand there was just one chef on duty - the poor guy must have been run ragged. Likewise the friendly apologetic but clearly frazzled waitresses did their best. All in all a dreadful experience not to be repeated. This had been a good central get together place of choice for family meet ups. Not any more. Appalling! Not our best family memory….

I have been twice this week. On Monday with asst chef meal was great. Ordered the same meal Friday with chef on and it was terrible! Also no coffee machine broken, couldn’t even make an instant coffee.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff!

Great evening with friends.. tasty skewers.. Gammon was declared best in a long time.. friendly service ... just needs proper chips not soggy triple cooked chips! warm cosy relaxed Atmosphere.. welcome change from standard pub or posh dining experience.. will be back
