Great menu choices and delicious food. Service was great too and we had a lovely, relaxed evening. Love the fairy lights and the outside area so look forward to some drinks there another evening.

Chestfield Barn – WhitstableIt is quite a while ago since we had a meal at Chestfield Barn and only came as friends recommended. On entry your check in is half way up the restaurant which leaves you waiting in a line to be seated (there were 4 of us)standing right next to people who were eating. I would not have been happy with one of those tables. I wonder if any members of staff have tried sitting on your chairs for any length of time. We were very uncomfortable - we had the light coloured more modern chairs - reminiscent of church chairs that make you sit bolt upright and the curved top digs in to your back. Even if everything else was top notch we would not return for that reason. The early part of our meal also was marred with children running around. Bit Harvester or TableTable atmosphere.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableHad Sunday lunch there this past weekend. It was a pleasant experience, as the staff are lovely but a couple of points of improvement. I had the prawn cocktail to start, there wasn't enough bread and the salad underneath the prawn cocktail wasn't dressed, just plain dry leaves. The roast beef was cooked well and the veg and gravy were nice, but everything arrived lukewarm. It would also be great if there was some cauliflower cheese as a side. The apple crumble was lovely. I ordered a coffee with my dessert that never came, but it had taken 20 or so mins to get the bill so I couldn't be bothered complaining about it.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableWhat a lovely find. It was a Monday night so quite quiet but lovely interior, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food portions plentiful and tasty. Only quibble was the garlic mushrooms, possibly tinned and served in a bowl so didn’t look very appealing. We didn’t have desert as too full but observed another tables order and they looked very good. Would definitely return, next time during the day as the outside area looks lovely and quaint. Wooden tables with a pond & water feature.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableBooked the table for Friday lunch. The food was lovely and good price but unfortunately just for our drinks (water and coke) we were waiting 15 minutes and 50 minutes for the food. Not sure if that’s normal waiting time, however the place is nice.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableThe best roast dinner we’ve had in a restaurant for a very long while. Meat tender, potatoes crispy, gravy thick and plentiful, fresh veg and a large yorkshire. The staff were helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableFood good but service dreadful. No menu or offer of drinks after 20 minutes waiting. Finally received main course followed by another long wait for desert menu. Having decided on desert we decided not to order as by then it had been two hours for just one course! Service needs to be addressed.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableWe were a party of 9 and every one of us were delighted with the food! The menu caters for all and each dish is well thought out. The staff were attentive and each course arrived just as we were ready for them. This was impressive considering how busy it was and the supervisor Izzy checked to ensure we were all happy with our meals. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable experience, we will definitely be back!
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableExcellent as always
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableFood was excellent . But we had to wait a bit between courses.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableOur first Time here, food was excellent.staff lovely. Restaurant has a welcoming feel to it,we loved all the lights. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush. Would highly recommend this place
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableBooked a table for four on Friday night. We were greeted and shown to our table. The staff were extremely good and the live music exceptional. The food was great and we all enjoyed the ambiance and a great night out. We will be definitely be back soon
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableReally great value and excellent food as ever, my guests were very impressed and said they would return, as will I. Our waitresses were very attentive, courteous and delivered great service throughout our meal.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableDirty environment. Drunk, antagonistic barman. Food poisoning after eating their lunch. Avoid at all costs.
The Quayside Freehouse – WhitstableA group of us were there yesterday for my husbands birthday dinner very good, staff run ragged, as there had been a group of 40 people there the evening before we had to forgo dessert, as there wasn't enough for all of us, didn't even have cheese and biscuits. Did speak to manager who was just off to buy more desserts, urm it's a restaurant. But would go back. Good atmosphere.
The Rose in Bloom – WhitstableTop notch Indian restaurant. The mouthwatering photos above made me want to try it
Krishna Restaurant – Whitstablethe pub has recently changed hands again . i visited yesterday evening after a break of a number of weeks and had my usual battered cod and chips. The fish was old and tired as was the accompanying salad. Definitely not up to the usual v.g standard.I have found in the past. There is no email address to pass on my comments to the management? and I did not want to make a fuss on the night!!
The Royal – WhitstableThe Royal is a very friendly, cosy pub, don't let the somewhat drab exterior deter. Enjoyed several wonderful Christmas Dinners here whilst visiting from Sweden. The Pub dining area is has been tastefully decorated and China collection would be the envy of many living rooms, this is balanced by the nautical theme of the bar area which looks out to sea. Great food, good portion sizes and suites even the fussy eater.
