Great place to eat, good service, great food. Couldn't fault it!

I've been to sentidos a number of times. The food is fantastic and the service outstanding. Joanne served us, she's is always smiling and really makes the evening! Highly recommended, best restaurant in wigan!

Perfect early evening meal of steak and chips. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was faultless. I love the feeling of space since the recent refurbishment, and I particular like being able to see the chefs in the kitchen - a huge improvement.

Great meal again. Can’t fault this friendly family run business. Always made to feel special and wonderful food yet again. Never disappoints.

We love the new refurbished look of the Windmill. The whole place is light and airy. The fixtures and fittings do justice to what has been an established stopping off place since the late 1700's. The food didn't disappoint either . Two of us had traditional fish and chips, I had homemade steak pie and our fourth diner had a sizzling spiced chicken dish. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and dining experience.

It was Saturday evening and the pub was full, so it was very noisy. We weren't given a wine list. The waitress was nice but seemed a bit overwhelmed. The food was lovely but the service was extremely slow.

Booked an early table for two on Saturday 15th March 2025. Arrived to find the pub heaving with drinkers and diners. We were shown to a quiet table where, despite the huge number of customers present, the service was second to none throughout our visit. The waitress began by talking us through the menu and very helpfully identifying anything that wasn't available. The food was fantastic and the staff never stopped working the whole time we were there. Will be going back and would highly recommend.

My party of 8 all had a very tasty and hot meal last weekend although the staff were clearly struggling from dealing with the customer numbers. A nice varied menu served by a friendly team,

The Windmill has been refurbished and looks fantastic so we were really looking forward to trying it. When we arrived although we pre booked there was no table ready for us, the staff were helpful and managed to get something sorted. We then waited 45 minutes to get a drink, the pub was reasonably busy however it was a Thursday so not packed. It was over an hour before we ordered food and they’d ran out of chunky chips which caused confusion as they still had skinny chips and mashed potatoes as options. The food was not what we expected and unfortunately was not what was described on the menu, the ‘sticky coconut rice’ tasted like plain packet basmati and the naan breads were small toasted packet pittas that hadn’t even been flavoured. There were 6 of us at the table and we were all really disappointed, especially considering the price of the food. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were helpful, it’s just a shame the service was so slow and the food was such a disappointment. Hopefully these are just teething problems with it recently re opening.

visted after refurb...having been to the pub on numerous occasions. Found this visit to be disapointing...far too long to wait over an hour for a main course only meal. The new layout found us cramped in a corner and wasnt reallly an ambiance of relaxation but one of noise. The food which was ordered came and the chips were far too big and where like rocks. Waitresses were very pleasant and apologetic but they didnt cook the food. Ended up with one meal discounted due to food. Probably will not go again. Feel the place is going in then wrong direction ...after bottoms on seats and losing that customer experience...

Our first visit and won't be our last. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful and delicious thankyou for a lovely evening with family.

Visited after recent alterations.Our meal of fish and chips was nice but could have done with being hotter also served on cold plates.Also a number of items were not available not up to the same standard and quality of food as on previous visits.

Waited nearly 25 minutes to get our food menus, we had been given the wine menu by accident but the staff were too busy to notice. They apologised when they realised but seemed rushed off their feet. Ordered starters which came with our main course, they said it was a miscommunication with the kitchen. Food arrived 40 minutes after ordering. Heard the table next to us complaining about their wait time too and a waitress replied ‘it’s not my fault’. Food was tasty so hopefully just a few teething problems.

Visited for breakfast yesterday with a friend and ordered sourdough toast with mushrooms. Plain soggy white toast arrived with no explanation given, and the mushrooms were tasteless. Sourdough toast was the main reason for ordering this dish as our favourite so it was disappointing. The waitress apologised at the point of paying the bill and reduced the bill. But the other waitress who brought out the food should have said something.

The ’ Windy’ is now under new ownership and reopened on 27/2/25 having been totally refurbished with more building work continuing. 4 of us had a lovely Sunday lunch, it was freshly prepared and we waited about 40 minutes (not a problem) service was very good. The new menu is an improvement and and reasonably priced. We will certainly be returning soon.
