The food was very poor and the staff were rude to us. All in all this was a very poor restaurant - what a waste of money!
The Spice Lounge – WiganI visited the Olive Garden today for the first time. The food, service, décor and ambience were all excellent. I chose Linguini Olive Garden which included the largest portion of divine scallops I've ever been served. Why I bother to write this recommendation, my first ever, is that they were cooked with chilli which I don't normally eat and I found them hot for my taste, although my friend loved them. The waiter offered at least three times to cook them again for me without chilli - even though it was my fault for not having read the menu correctly! I did not accept this offer which I thought was well beyond the call of duty. The French chef then came out to have a word with me - en francais - to make sure I was happy. Needless to say, I will be back - and bring all my friends...
Olive Garden – WiganGood food, average service and a pleasant ambience. A little bit pricey though. All told, I'd go back - but it's not somewhere I'd rave about.
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine – WiganWe have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions and always found it to be enjoyable food in a beautiful part of alongshore, it was our preferred destination for a bar snack. We had paid for our meal before receiving it a fish and chips (big portion very fresh) and a steak baguette, on order they asked Q. How we would like it cooked - A. Medium rare. It came out and was distinctly grey, very greasy (it soaked the bread completely) with with an odd flavour like it had been boiled in a cool pan. We highlighted this to the staff who tried to fob us off "that, that was how it came". The manager who had been cooking hid in the kitchen and offered us half the price of the sandwich back. This place has gone backwards, old menus falling to bits with overwritten prices, the place looking tatty. I could see in the kitchen when we paid, a shelf with piles of tinned custard on. I dont know if it was the chefs day off but it is a great shame that one of the locals best kept secrets for good homely cooking is now rated POOR.
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganThe service was terrible. The waiter obviously needed her nappy changed. The price of the meal was far too expensive, considering what unprofessional, rude, and downright immature waiting staff who served it. As I left, the waiter had that gall to ask for a tip. My tip to whoever reads this review, is to steer clear of this poor excuse for a restaurant.
Rigalettos – WiganThis is the worst place I have ever been to. Nobody to see us to a table, 15 minutes before menu arrived - 10 minutes before they asked us what we wanted to drink. FOOD - Sirloin Steak strips - the meat was off boiled then braised to give a fresh texture BBQ Ribs - DRY Oven baked spudd - Bolied and Cold Garlic Bread - RAW not baked or even toasted# Chicken - Okay We did not eat anything told the waiter we wanted the bill for the drinks only as we could not eat the food. He then was abusive and called MR BOSS man Carlos.. He threatened to call the police and demanded we payed. Well as We did not consume any food why should we pay - The customer is always right - hence we did not pay. Thsi is the worst ever restaurant and customer service does not exsist!!
Casa Carlos – Wiganwas the greatest restaurant i have ever been to wish i could come back
Beeches Restaurant and Hotel – WiganThe waiter was a spoiled brat. He did nothing but complain and threaten me all evening. If you want good Italian cooking, go somewhere that hires people who've grown out of nappies.
Rigalettos – WiganI NORMALLY ALWAYS ORDER A CHICKEN TIKKA VINDALOO BUT HAVE FOUND IT TO BE A LITTLE BORING TO MY TASTES OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. THE CHEFS AT THE SUHANA ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO WHIP UP A SPECIAL TO SIMILAR STRENGTHS. THE FOOD HERE IS SUPER, ITS THAT GOOD I WONT GO ANYWERE ELSE FOR A RUBY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AS BEING VERY VERY GOOD AND WHY GO TO THE CURRY MILE WHEN THE BEST CURRIES AROUND ARE MADE AND SERVED AT THE SUHANA GIVE IT A GO
Suhana Indian Cuisine – WiganI visited the Olive Garden for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago with a friend - don't let the outside of the building put you off! The ambience and the welcome we received were second to none. The food was wonderful - even on an 'offer' night, though if you went all out it could end up more of a 'treat' than a 'pop in' experience. All the staff we saw were extremely attentive and friendly. Can't recommend it enough - I will be back very soon - can't wait.
Olive Garden – WiganBeen to the restaurant more than a few times since opening in its new guise after an unsuccessful spell as a tapas, the most recent only a week ago. Each time I’ve been impressed with the food on offer and glad to see its the potential is being fulfilled with the improvements from my 1st visit, were they had a small menu & a nervy but smiling staff - it had only been open a week! Twice our table requests have been last minute, meaning we’ve had the 7/9.30 slots - even then the restaurant was bubbling with customers & staff. The food is also bubbling when it comes to your table, not luke-warm sat waiting to be served at much pricier venue! The flavours in the food are all there to taste in lovely surroundings & will be again visiting as recommend and booked for a friend’s birthday.
Olive Garden – WiganThe waiters are all spoiled French brats, who hardly ever lift a finger. I am disgusted by their behavior. The waiter who served my table called my wife a whore, when she tried to attract her attention.
Rigalettos – Wiganfood arrived cold, when i was brave and asked mine to be sent back it was returned with a bit mark in, my my i hope that was mine! upon leaving the manager seemed shocked that i thought it was unacceptable to have to send your food back before i enjoyed my meal, so if u don't mind the wait and like to look at, pick at and sample your food before u get to wait for it after yet another wait then please frequent here, oh did i mention the cost for what u get, hmm go across to the red robin and you'll get better food for two for the same cost as one meal at f and b's
Frankie and Bennys – Wiganthis restaurant claims to be one of the best around, but i would say the food is bland, over cooked and poor quality and the wine...the white is warm, cheap plonk, beware the only thing tempting here is the set menu price but keep driving u'll come to better just down the road!
Beeches Restaurant and Hotel – WiganThe food was delivered very quickly and tasted very fresh. I was later to be told all food is fresh and delivered daily and prepared on site. My sons food looked just as good and is also good to no he wasn't being filled with "rubbish" and unhealthy additives other brands are known for, and has not been micro-waved to the extremes.
Wiggin Tree – WiganLovely country pub which serves very good food, there is so much to choose from it's very hard to decide what to have. I have always been impressed by the Rigbye.
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganOK if you cheap meal but the service is poor (mainly 16 year old's waiting), food is ok but by no means outstanding. Wouldn't go again.
Beeches Restaurant and Hotel – WiganHad a meal there Saturday 29 September. Only complaint is that of service. The meal took over 40 minutes from being order to be served. And it wasn't a particular busy night. The quality of the meal was very good. The decor excellent. But it did spoil the experience.
