Enjoying a superb canalside location at The Mailbox in Birmingham, Côte opened in 2010 and this Parisian brasserie-inspired venue is part of a growing group. Voted in 2009 as the best-value restaurant in Britain by the Good Food Guide, Côte is backed by restaurant entrepreneur Richard Caring, who owns some of the UK’s most highly acclaimed restaurants such as The Ivy, J Sheekeys, Le Caprice in London and the Soho House group. Smart, elegant and professional, the restaurant is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the al fresco terrace seats 100. The menus offer classic regional French dishes using high-quality seasonal produce from France and the UK with aged steaks from Church Farm in the Peak District and famous Poulet de Breton corn fed chicken from rural Brittany. Enjoy classics for breakfast such as eggs Benedict and lunch on steak frites, moules Marinieres or Poulet de Breton. There is a set menu on offer for lunch and early evening when you can try the traditional Beef Bourguignon or duck confit and finish with crepes Suzette, dark chocolate mousse or a crème caramel. A well-chosen regional French wine list offers unsung heroes such as the zesty Picpoul de Pinet and earthy Chinon Loire red.
