Demetris Taverna – Weston Super MareThe four of us decided to go to Sands on a Saturday night - to be fair it was the Valentines weekend so the staff were very busy but we booked an early meal (7pm). However on arrival we were not greeted and made to wait for a good 5 minutes or so until anyone came over to take our reservation name. They disappeared again for a while until eventually we were taken to our table. Things looked up as the menu is fantastic, we got drinks promptly and the atmosphere was great. Our starters came and were lovely - a bit on the small side for the boys but delicious all the same. We then waited for the main meal which did not appear. After about 20mins a waitress came over to ask what we have ordered which did not fill us with confidence or look very professional. Another wait of about 15mins. I went up and asked how much longer the meal would be and was told it was right on its way. Another wait and then it appeared. It was very good indeed despite have got lost on the way - especially the lamb. We went on to have an apple and honey smoke - sickly but a lot of fun, and some apple teas. The food and atmosphere was superb, the service pretty poor - we actually asked for the service charge of £12 to be deducted from the bill - not some thing we would normally do but we got no apology for the lost mains . I would go back as have a great night and hope that the bad service was a one off.
Sands Restaurant – CliftonWhat can I say; it? nice to have a real Caribbean restaurant in Bristol that provides you with a good quality meal. PLANTATION - keep doing your thing!!!
Plantation – Bristol City Centrethe food was excellent a great night out. the staff very friendly. very clean and tidy. its the best in bristol will be going back.
Tamarind – Staple HillWonderful night with excellent fish selection accompanied by gorgeous wine finish with a delicious homemade "tiramisu' " strongly recommended
Hathaways – MineheadGorgeous Food, excellent service, must book as busy, recommend not to sit too near the music speakers upstairs as can be a little loud
Bottelinos – Staple HillMy family dine here 7 or 8 times a year. The food is always nice and frequently very good. The portions, it must be said, are large and more than ample. The restaurant is run by the owners Phil and Karen Chant and consequently has a warm and friendly ambiance. Sunday lunches are excellent and very busy, so reserving a table for lunch is imperative. There is a nice veranda, which over looks the River Avon, and it is possible to dine on the veranda during the summer and autumn.
Bathwick Boatman Restaurant – BathBest takeaway kebab place in Bristol but often not recognised as a relaxed restaurant which serves excellent food. Unpretentious!
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreReally nice mexican with fresh tasty food! The service is good but the staff have an element of there own agenda presence i.e. what they did the night before etc so you feel awkward to interupt
Casa Mexicana – Bristol City CentreIve been back 5 times already, they know me by name!!!
Raj Mahal The – Staple HillI have been to Plantation a couple of times and would definitely return. It is a light, airy restaurant and very pleasantly decorated. The food is outstanding for the price and the service is very good. It's great to see the open plan kitchen and watch your food being cooked. The staff are all very attentive and the owner is a diamond.
Plantation – Bristol City CentreGreat place for a quick bite or a long lunch. The food is well cooked and flavoursome. Noodles cooked perfect! My wife's first introduction to Japanese food and she loved it.
Wagamama – CliftonUnusual selection of dishes prepared with little extra touches. Subtly different to most Indian Restaurants and well worth a visit.
Cafe Romna – WellsDownstairs to a converted cellar. Good ethnic Indian decoration. Cosy areas to sit with a small bar near the entrance. Unusual range of Indian and Bangladesh regional dishes not often found outside London. The tandoori breads were excellent. Wonderful glass of lassie. Service attentive but unobtrusive.
Rajpoot Tandoori – BathWe dined early in the evening around 7.30. There were already several people in the dining room, and there was no wait for our table, We were greeted gracefully and attentively, our drinks order was dealt with quickly The ambience and decor were pleasant - a cool, arched cellar with understated motifs and objet d'arts carefully placed. Having lived for many years in the Middle East, we felt immediately at home. Throughout the evening, the service was attentive but unobtrusive - the waiters were ready to help and explain the finer details to those of their guests who might have been less than familiar with the contents of their extensive menu. The food itself was plentiful, delicious, authentically Lebanese and beautifully presented. The wine list was certainly adequate, with a range to suit almost any palate, at a price that would not break the bank. All in all, a first class dining experience and a gentle stroll down the memory lane of Middle Eastern cuisine - heartily recommended.
Sands Restaurant – Cliftonwell the service of the young Janet Dawid was magnificent. the washing up was done to perfection. The steak and kidney pie made by handsome Paul Dawid was delicious. I recommend to any one.
Lapswood Restaurant – MineheadI could not have celebrated my birthday in a more comfortable and relaxed restaurant than this. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top and the food was absolutely sensational. They have a great wine list to choose from and my fish was fresh, delicate and full of flavour. We didn? have to wait long for the food to arrive and the service was professional and without attitude. I will certainly be heading back to Fishers as soon as possible and I urge you to do the same.
Fishers Restaurant – CliftonLovely food and they put on some great special events too.
