From the taking of our telephone booking to our exit from the restaurant everything was excellent. We were received very efficiently and given the choice of going straight to table or having a drink beforehand. We chose the latter. Our order was taken quickly by a member of staff who answered questions and even recommended dishes without any hesitation at all. When seated we were immediately served by an impressive array of smiling staff. All courses looked and tasted beautiful, with staff friendly and ultra helpful. Two experienced professional chefs were in my party and both praised the quality of the food, the creativity of the well balanced menu and the service. This all contributed to a memorable, thoroughly enjoyable evening and we could not recommend this restaurant more strongly.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant many times and the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and efficient.
The food at Prestbury Thia is far better quality than any other Thai in the area.
You may feel a little squashed in with the tables but everything else makes up for it!

Visited the Village Restaurant on Saturday 19th January 2008 with my wife. The restaurant were accommodating with a late booking made on Saturday evening. We enjoyed the Asian Trio to start. The dish was pleasant although we were not sure any of it was made in the kitchen. My wife had the Cumbrian Beef Fillet for her main, while I chose the Pork Belly. Both were presented with attention on crisp white plates. The beef was cooked perfectly and served with a delicious hash brown stack. The pork was served on a bed of black pudding and cooked well although the cut could have been better. Fresh local vegetables simply tossed in butter accompanied. Desert was a disappointment, we opted for sticky toffee pudding which in itself was good but again probably not made in the kitchen, this could have been accepted if it hadn’t have been finished with mr whippy cream! The restaurant has a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Will be visiting again definitely.

A consistent local favourite. The ambience is relaxed and informal. The staff friendly and knowledgeable. The food is always outstandingly good, with a wide choice to suit every taste. The wine list is particularly good and well priced. The place is always busy - a recommendation in itself.
