Ate here the other night on my birthday with my Mother, Father and Boyfriend.
None of us had eaten here before but my Mother wanted to for a while after hearing good things and we were not disappointed!
Walking in, the restaurant is small but cosy and quirky decor, the staff were incredibly welcoming and made effort to talk and joke with us whilst waiting for our food.
The food was absolutely phenomenal.
We all decided to get different starters and mains to try each others, and we could not decide what was the best! All the meat was cooked to perfection and all the different flavours in our food were incredible. Even the dessert (there's always room) was fantastic, we will definitely be going again when we are next in the Lake District and spreading the word of this amazing little restaurant!

Celebrated 44th wedding anniversary here Aug 2013 whilst on holiday. Enjoyed it so much, food best we have ever had, coming back this year for our 45th. Booked some time ago to make sure we got a table. Look forward to seeing you again on 16th Aug.

We visited Jumble Room for my 40th birthday, was unsure of what to expect as it was recommended. I was definitely not disappointed, it was fantastic. The venue is really pleasantly disjointed, sofs, big fluffy cushions, jazz music playing all night, service was brilliant, lovely ambience, food fantastic, especially the chocolaty chocolate brownie with homemade custard:) Definitely recommend going & I can't wait to go back.

This is a great find. Maybe we were not so clever at finding the decent eateries in the Lakes, but this is one amazing little place. Really enjoyed the meal. We love food and does this place do good food!!! My duck was so tasty. As for the seafood terrine...WOW. We were only up for 3 days and we only found this on day 3. We were gutted. Would have eaten there 3 nights on the trot. Staff were great too. Yeah, been to all the posh restaurants in London. Gordon does good food, but these guys do it for a lot cheaper in a lot less pretentious environment!!

On a crisp cold winters day (I have only been in winter), you could do no better than to stop at the Jumble Room for a bowl of warming soup or delicious risotto; the puddings are good too! The atmosphere is quirky, relaxed and friendly, and you will even find a few annuals from your youth to keep you entertained. I found it by accident three years ago, and returned by design for the first time a few weeks ago. It has only got better, and is now a must visit whenever I am back in the lakes.

I was desperate to visit The Jumble Room after reading it's website, and it lived up to all of my hopes. My husband and I enjoyed a very special evening here. We can thoroughly recommend the mushroom and nutmeg soup, organic battered fish with chips and mushy peas and the organic chicken with sweet potato and chilli jam. If you're a fan of cheesecake then you must try it (I passed on a starter to leave room!) I can guarantee you it has never seen an artificial colour/preservative. The surroundings are comfortable and a little quirky - I loved the place.

I visited the Jumble Room twice during a short stay at Grasmere and I was satisfied both times. I absolutely loved the colourful decoration and the relaxed atmosphere. The service was on the friendly side, effective nevertheless. The food was carefully cooked and the dishes had character. The cost was average for a quality restaurant. All in all a pleasant place.

The Jumble Room is THE best restaurant in the Lake District, non of your pretentious food here, just honest to goodness real fresh food cooked with flair and a real love of flavours and so fresh, from the homemade beer battered fish and chips to the thai tiger prawns (which are to die for). A little gem hidden on a back street. often booked up ages in advance and kept a secret to those in the know. Andy and Chissy will look after you and I promise you will leave this place with great memories and a promise to return.
